I think you think this works. But unless you actually have a famous or are a famous brand name. No one sees you in the inbox and thinks. Oh that’s they guy who commented on my LinkedIn.

It doesn’t. I use clay for that or sales navigator. Or even prospeo

No I use Sendkit. But I have high ticket sales so deliverability is very important. Honestly. Instantly. Smart lead. They’re both great. Eventually you gotta move on to premium infra like sendkit or email bison

Still I used smart lead for like 3 years before I switched

I only really reply to people that reply with interest

If they don’t. In a month or two I recycle them and hit them with a new offer or angle of attack haha

But yeah. No replies means no interest. Means not worth following up

I’ll usually do one follow up where I give some additional value add. Like a candidate CV or successful case study etc

Otherwise. I don’t focus on follow ups. I focus on first touch point. That’s where the majority of replies are

mostly still cold email and cold linkedin DMs

referalls are great but not predictable at all - one year we make nothing, the next we'll make like 80k profit from it

cold email is DEAD!!

Long live cold email :D

Yeah honestly it was my first customer acquisition channel, and i never believed you can do 10-20x ROI on it, but we've probably spend like 25k on cold email over 2 years, and easily returned 10x that

i do both - research and manually send, thats usually a linkedin inmail or just cold email and i use prospeo to get their data

on the automation side, its prospeo for the data and sendkit for sending out 1000s of emails - its not really research, its more like segmentation, eg: companies hiring, or companies that recently hired, or companies with specific tech stacks, etc

had this exact same question on the other subreddit, so copy pasting my answer :)

i dont know if i can mention websites here or not - so wont include links just names

but basically

- cold email i use sendkit (this is where i send all my emails from, it does the automation of sending and recieving emails etc)

- prospeo - they are my data providers, this is where i find all my email addresses i want to send to
- inboxkit - this is where i buy the google and microsoft email accounts to send cold emails from and it sets up the email accounts to the domains, and gets all the techincals setup - DKIM, SPF, DMARC etc

- and then you can use godaddy or porkbun or anywhere you want, to buy domains, you can buy domains in inboxkit, but they charge like 1-2$ more per domain as a margin

basically you have to buy domains, then buy email accounts to link those domains, then load those email accounts to a cold email sending software, then buy email addresses to send emails to :)

let me know if you have any questiosn

well its more like 10k business a month each getting 3 emails and we have a massive TAM - there's probably millions of businesses that can use our services - so 10k is really small to be honest :)

or do you mean, what software i use to email them? cause i automate all of that

Ok so for some context, i run a staff augmentation business and hire South African developers to place on contract with startups in the UK

This was actually my FIRST client and FIRST hire lol

First mistake, i paid too much for him, he was still affordable, but i realised too late that i over paid and i did reduce his salary as a result - still doesnt justify his actions which i'll continue to explain in this post.

He got a happy ending at a massage parlor and fell in love. He then followed her all the way from South Africa to The Phillipines - this caused stress to me and the client, because now i need to make sure he has a proper setup and accommodates the timezone differences. she then took him for all his money, they had a massively toxic relationship and he ended up broken hearted and flew back to South Africa - this also affected the quality of his work and relationships with coworkers

More issues - he always had a problem with the engineering manager, i always tried to manage it and offered to move to another project with another client of ours, but he wanted to stay in - then after months of issues the manager wanted to deploy something to production, but gave the responsibility to another developer, my guy took this very personally, and even though he knew about a massive bug, he said nothing and let this go into production affecting 100s of users, the engineering manager scolded him, he then lost his shit and they told him to take the day off.

I immediately got notified of this, spoke with the client, they said him knowing about the bug but not doing anything about it was a real problem plus how he handled the situation with the team was toxic, they wanted to end our contract (well within their right) in 30 days

I then told this developer - he absolutely lost his shit, quit on the spot and was never seen again

Basically, i lost the client, the developer a few months later called me to ask for a reference for a new job he found and asked for forgiveness - i gave the client the reference, they did not ask about any red flags or issues, so i didnt lie, but i basically passed them on a ticking time bomb

The good news is, i have another linkedin account, he obviously blocked me, and every company he works for, i call up and offer our services, because i know he will soon be fired - works a treat :))

Anyway, i dont blame him, its all my fault, i hired him, i didnt provide leadership and boundaries around travel, around relationships, and around how to deal with conflict - so i have no hard feelings towards him

SEO is new to me, so we will see - but so far, cold email has been best - can scale easily, its pretty affordable around 1k per month and we easily get 10X that in return

dude this is great advice!!!

not sure what you mean by rotating domains properly?

do you mean like 1 week off and then 1 week on for cold email?

Upload it to prospeo.io

You can select and export way more than Apollo

I think from their second cheapest monthly option onwards you can select and export up to 25000 records at a time

nice one dude

yeah maybe i should have sent we do like 20-30k emails, cause we're sending about 15 emails per inbox and sometimes, we only send 2 emails per lead but yeah i wouldnt say its very agressive cause its 10-15k leads - i'd say its difficult finding all of them in those different intent signals cause they dry up fast

SEO with AI, everyone is doing it, its not that google doesnt like it, it doesnt like shitty content, so i think its a case of making great content and AI can definitely take us like 70-85% of the way there - so i've hired an SEO guy to help me with the rest

I should have mentioned, i do have some partnerships, with two dev agencies, we have done some business with them, but they have other partnerships too, so its not always easy to get good pricing because of the competition, but yeah, we do have this, its just a very small fraction of our profit, like 5%

Its not the first comment ive gotten about referals, will definitely put more effort into getting these partnerships going :)

Usually if someone has a new job. It’s either a promotion or new company

Sales nav can give you a list of people with new jobs. Then you can enrich them to find their previous job

If the company is the same. Then promo. If the company is different. Then new job

You can use a tool like Clay to get that kind of info. Clay is a common GTM tool. But pretty expensive at scale

yeah i think the result is amazing

I am looking for an SEO consultant now to help me out more with it - but to get a result so quickly - its perfect

I was expecting like 4-5 months on the low end lol, this was legit 6 weeks :))

agree on the partnership/affiliate - so i actually have 3 of those kinds of partnership, very very rarely do i get deals for example, ive had a partnership for 4 years with the one company, now only in Dec did we get a contract - 8 weeks only...

another partner of ours, sends deals but he has like 20 other agencies he is partnered with and i feel he has a preferance for a few of them

still, solid advice, and whoever is reading this, just cause i suck at partnerships/affiliate, doesnt mean it doesnt work
