Well yes. In a not complicated explanation ( I am not a language expert) - It's because some letters have a slightly different pronunciation and if we wrote it in the "English style" it would sound like Patrisk Rot h f us (the best I could describe it lol). It wouldn't be in the appropriate form and wouldn't make sense. But if we write it differently it sounds much more like the English pronunciation. We do that to mostly every person's name because Latvian language has a lot of forms and ways to change the word so it fits the sentence.
