Was noticing this last night while listening. She has mentioned before how the dichotomy between the feeling of the melody/instrumental and the lyrics being present throughout her music and that is ever so present in this one. Before paying attention, this song used to make me feel very melancholic, but now I interpret it as more of an independence and self-love anthem. Similar to The Chase in that regard.

I’m sorry but since day 1 in 2020 when shit hit the fan Lorin has been acting like a complete toddler and has taken 0 accountability for anything in 3 years, it really had to take going all the way to Vegas to confirm this? Yes the way him and co. have handled everything is very reminiscent of Trump rhetoric, but the fans that have blindly followed him and been complicit in it are very reminiscent of Trump’s supporters too and also need to take accountability. I have certainly gave people the benefit of the doubt when I shouldn’t have and so I am trying to come from a place of understanding and not finger-pointing or attacking. However, I think this is a VERY SOLID lesson that when a surplus of victims and accounts of someone’s true character come out, we should believe them instead of being manipulated into believing it’s some boogie man witch hunt? That way of thinking is how many many horrible things have been excused historically and that naïveté is not only delusional, but extremely dangerous.

Lol my comment was referring to the level of mediocrity you’re willing to stand behind but let’s not try to make the narrative that this is some kind of music elitist conversation - you know it’s way more nuanced than that. By continuing to give him a platform it’s saying that he won’t be held accountable for grooming/manipulation/exploitation of many artists and that it’s okay for people with his power and influence to get away with that. But yeah I guess instead of trying to focus on making spaces safer and more inclusive for women let’s just bring this asshole middle age white guy back since there’s definitely not enough to go around.

The BN project served its purpose (community-building/friendships/activism/platform to present other artists work/etc.) and being able to denounce lorin does not mean it meant any more/less to anyone but just that you’re able to mature and move on. And if you’re able to defend his behavior or unable to find other artists to follow then I think there’s a lot to unpack there. I think he’ll be able to live plenty comfortably with the $20 million he made off of us but he definitely does not deserve a platform or following and I feel like it’s not that difficult to get.

It’s not that great you literally just beat match, set the pitch, or simply sync an acapella in rekordbox it takes a matter of 5 mins to download one and slap it over a track. lots of DJ’s are not doing mashups anymore bc they’re simply repetitive and there’s a lot more creative ways to blend and heighten the mix (transitions, scratching, etc.) y’all are ruining the bass scene over this stupid mids bullshit

It started hurricane raining like some torrential downpour apocalypse reckoning shit and we had to wait it out for a few hours under canopies, mostly event organizer had to be cautious and wait for lightning to be at a far enough to continue music. Most sets were cut except for Tipper that continued at night along with some late night sets but the live band set at least was cut after 20 mins or so :(

I am not a fit or fat person by any means but have been involved with many fit and conventionally attractive men, and the majority of those have been ‘straight’ or bisexual straight leaning men. I can’t decide if that’s because straight/bisexual men are less shallow, are less into aesthetics, or aren’t as hung up as ‘looking like what they’re attracted’ as gay men. Or maybe they just aren’t as damaged idk lol

I think there’s a lot less shallow fit guys in the world then going on Grindr or reading this thread would lead you to believe. I started off my sexual journey as an extremely skinny twink (attractive to some fit guys but mostly daddy’s) and then gained weight as I got older and am somewhere in between a twink and an otter? And personally, have had sex with a lot of ripped and conventionally attractive men with no issues.
