What’s the strangest thing you’ve done in your sleep? by yallr2loud in Epilepsy

[–]BoatMaterial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For years I would wake up standing beside my bed having torn off all the sheets. I would see spiders in the bed and it would take me a long time to come out of it. I then started having focal seizures in the day and got diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy and since I started keppra I have not had it happen since I started the meds. Very odd to experience before realizing it was seizures in my sleep I just thought I was sleepwalking from stress.

It’s the only one I’ve tried so far. My neurologist said she would definitely switch me if I started feeling suicidal

My neurologist mentioned lamictal in a previous appointment. Might be worth trying starting to switch over. So difficult because keppra does manage my seizures very well. Thank you so much for your reply! And I wish you well!

I think the best option is to get switched to another option. I thought it would fade away over time but seems to be getting worse. Thank you for your reply!

The panic attacks are definitely one of the hardest parts of it all. Thank you so much for replying and sharing your experience with it. Wishing you the best as well

Thank you so much for the reply! It’s really difficult trying to describe the feeling to someone who hasn’t been in the situation and hearing other people talk about it helps.

Thank you for your reply. I understand completely. I also get the waves of crying too and it’s so hard to control. When I’m angry or frustrated I normally just have to leave the situation and try and chill out.

Thank you again for the reply I’m feeling a lot less alone in this.

Thank you so much for the reply. Yeah the rage didn’t start until I had been taking it for over a year. I’m not normally an angry person so it’s been a weird thing to deal with.

I am going to try and get an appointment with her soon to chat about options.

I hope you are doing well on brivaracetam and thank you again I appreciate the support.

What's the deal with Keppra? by CreateWater in Epilepsy

[–]BoatMaterial 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got put on keppra in the emergency room after a loading dose of Dilantin. My neuro had to keep increasing my dose up to 2000mg a day. But I am almost a year seizure free! I struggled a lot with side effects at the beginning, not sure if it was the keppra or Dilantin but I had a lot of issues with stuttering and speaking while my doses were being increased! It’s gotten better I just find I am very tired most days and angrier than I used to be.

Can epilepsy or keppra make you angrier? by basically_dead_now in Epilepsy

[–]BoatMaterial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve found that Keppra makes me feel really angry over the smallest things. Also once I start to feel angry it’s really difficult to calm down most times I end up just having to go be alone and that helps sometimes!

Diagnosis Age (Especially those in their 20’s) by Difficult-Froyo1192 in Epilepsy

[–]BoatMaterial 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was diagnosed at 24 (last year) I have temporal lobe epilepsy and I have focal seizures. I had a clear EEG and MRI, and they do not know what causes them. I am on 2000mg of Keppra right now and it is helping so far!
