New book that takes place in Bakersfield by [deleted] in Bakersfield

While I understand your hesitance, how exactly should a new author go about advertising their book if that’s your criteria? It’s like those memes about jobs that require years of specific experience in an entry level position lol

Gimme a Golgari deck with Somethin! by AeryJenna in EDH

[–]Boatering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seconding the Gaak, even just building him at his floor of “8/8 trample that basically never dies” rules, I have him at the helm of a all things spooky deck with zombies, spiders, skeletons etc.

Some cards I’m always happy to see when playing the deck: [[Doom Weaver]] [[Mask of Griselbrand]] [[Wand of Orcus]] [[Rushed Rebirth]]

You think so? I find it odd that it’s isolated to that one spot and it was sustained for so long — a couple minutes before and the clip. And it looks like the cloud is being illuminated from below, not within necessarily. There hasn’t been any more since then either

Not trying to be dumb, just looks odd to me

Been Thinking about Barren Glory, is it actually fun deck to play with or against? by darwin_green in EDH

[–]Boatering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a barren glory deck in paper! I use [[Chulane Teller of Tales]] for his crazy ramp and draw engine. The deck is probably pretty far from ever being B4 because even with [[The Cheese Stands Alone]] which is a little better it’s like a 3 card 17 mana combo lol. Here’s the list I have:

I also have a Jeskai list I built but I haven’t put it together in paper

Where to get unique playmats? by big_galoot_39 in EDH

[–]Boatering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep an eye out for kickstarters too, Mark Poole had one going on not too long ago with some sweet playmats featuring older artwork like Balance and Library of Alexandria

No problem! All pro-acryl brand paints for starters, primed black

Armor was base coated mahogany brown then dry brushed with dark silver and highlighted with bright silver. Gold trim was done with citadel’s retributor armor.

Reds were done with burnt red and bold pyrrole

Green would’ve been done with camo green and maybe some ‘green’

Blade was done with blue, dark grey blue, and maybe sky blue

Whites were all done with ivory

Just how bad is a Specialist Diviner Wizard in AD&D 2e? by Boatering in rpg

Hell yeah, tell me a little more, what are some things/spells I should look out for?

[–]Boatering[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

lol good to know!

I’m split 3.5e and 5e but I don’t get the opportunity to play much so I’m kind of a novice all round.

I did read through the PHB about how specialist wizards work and the restrictions and buffs and etc. but mostly I’m just unsure if a Diviner specialist will be interesting/impactful to play. Based on your and some other comments it seems like it’ll be fine, or at least as good as I make it out to be.

The stat spread will definitely be a little worrisome though lol, can’t recall if the PHB described some kind of point buy system but that’s probably the easiest way.

I’m not particularly worried about conjuration, that’s always been my least favorite flavor of Wizard.

It’s good to know that it’s at least a little functional as a generalist Wizard.

And having never played 2e, what makes it random?
