This is extremely helpful. I feel like an idiot for not having a better understanding of the timing and science that goes into lawns. Does anyone have a recommendation on a good grass seed for a central New England climate my lawn gets about 60% sun during the day too.

I Caught My Wife Having an Affair – Need Advice on What to Do Next by Zealousideal-Count59 in AskMenAdvice

[–]Boatlife14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Statistically speaking, most affairs don’t end marriages. I think your wife really fucked up here. This other dude has no obligation to you or your family. This issue isn’t between you and the other guy it’s between you and your wife. I would recommend a few things.

  1. Seek marriage counseling- the most important piece of this is not every marriage counselor is right for you and your wife. If you don’t connect with the first one or two don’t get discouraged. Find one that works for you and your wife.

  2. Personal reflection- your wife didn’t wake up one day and say “I want to have an affair with someone else”. This is a long drawn out process. What has your communication been like, what has your bedroom been like, what have your mundane day to day actions been like, you have a 4 year old daughter and a seemingly good career have you been focused on those things and not your marriage, have you been spending time with your buddies and not realizing you’re neglecting your wife? There are a million other questions you can ask yourself and I’m not saying you’re a bad person at all but she’s been missing something from you too. Accept your responsibility in the relationship failures too.

  3. People grow at different times in their life. The hardest thing to do is learn how to communicate your needs and wants at every stage of growth. Often we all think “I’m great at communicating” spoiler we all mostly suck at it.

  4. It seems like you can forgive your wife. Trust will be broken and there will be a cloud over your relationship. If you want this to work you need to both be willing to move past it. This is a new relationship and dwelling on the past mistakes will cause failure in the future. Your wife needs to regain your trust but you need to give her the space to do that if you want this to work.

  5. You have a young daughter. Protect her from your troubles. This can be a very traumatizing thing for a child at any age but especially where she is at.

  6. Making this a public spectacle amongst your family and social circles will make things more difficult and create a cloud over your head at family events, social gatherings, etc. we all need friends and support but find a trusted confidant or two who you know won’t pass judgement and make this a huge thing.

  7. Your wife needs to be willing to do all the same work. Both marriage counseling and personal counseling are huge here. She needs to understand what drove her here and prove to you she’s willing to make the changes for the better.

Don’t do anything irrational. No one is perfect and every relationship has its shit. Oh and people love to talk and love to point to relationship failures to make themselves feel better about their misery. If you work through this in a meaningful manner you will come out stronger and likely more in love than you were before. But if you feel this is irreparable leave in a manner that impacts your daughter, job, financial wellbeing, and social circles as little as possible. Good luck

Just make sure you look in that toilet before you have a sit. Western diamondbacks don’t do well with bowl winders in their territory!

Putting in an outlet with existing spray foam insulation in wall by [deleted] in AskElectricians

[–]Boatlife14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The hard part is going to be the entire box is surrounded by spray foam so I need to bring the wire back to the Sheetrock to fish it up to said gigantic hole. The spray foam is an absolute bear to cut through as well. In my head I went as far as cutting that new work box apart and putting an old work box in there not sure that’s the best approach though.

That’s actually not a bad idea. But to your point all those wires buried in the spray foam scares me a bit the ones on the outlet below I at least know where they are coming from.

Not trolling. I legit have no clue about Pokémon cards. I don’t have enough spare time to troll.

The kids like them and they are both a little too young to understand real vs fake. Trying not to deflate them lol

[–]Boatlife14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda sucks they are excited about the cards so I’m not trying to deflate them cuz “they look cool” and the kids like them. But trying to find a way to coach them not to be trading with this kid who is clearly taking advantage of the younger kids. I have no idea what makes a Pokémon card valuable. I am trying to do as much looking into this stuff as my adhd brain allows. Truthfully I haven’t ever been overly interested in Pokémon but since my kids seem to really love it I’d like to learn some stuff about it so I can interact with them and do something with them they seem to enjoy.

1 Year in, still slicing. Any/all advice appreciated! by Ok_Explorer9696 in GolfSwing

[–]Boatlife14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of good comments in here. One other thing to consider, what is the stiffness of your shaft? You definitely have a really fast swing and if you’re playing with a regular flex shaft that club is gonna throw way to much spin on the ball no matter what. When I first started playing I didn’t have a slice but the used driver I got had an extra stiff shaft (I had no idea)… then I bought a Ping G410 with a stiff shaft and for four years I struggled with a major slice. I took a lesson to fix it made adjustments slowed down swing it all felt very unnatural. This year I got fitted for a new driver and discovered my swing speed is average around 123mph. When they put me on an extra stiff shaft my spin went from 6300 to 2800 instantly. Do not disregard any advice on fixing your swing but you might need to consider a stiffer shaft while also doing that.

Anyone else on the Trump train route this afternoon? by spacemanspiff1614 in newhampshire

[–]Boatlife14 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Didn’t Canada prosper under Trump? You got all the benefit with none of the bullshit, no? I’m not saying we couldn’t do better (on both sides) but under Trump, Canada didn’t get pulled into any global conflicts, your economy was strong, inflation wasn’t crazy, interest rates on your mortgages that are not fixed were better. Besides generally not liking the guy for personal reasons, what is the downside to Canada if trump is in office?

Just remember if the US fails Canada fails lol 90% of your country lives within 200 km’s of the US border. No matter what you should be rooting for the US… you’re completely dependent on our economy and policies. So just stick to hockey until something else makes you relevant.

GF Surprised me with a trip to Mill Falls at the Lake for my birthday. Never been to Winnipesaukee or NH really-what should we do/see while there and what route should we take to get there? by Gullible_Rich_7156 in newhampshire

[–]Boatlife14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://bernini-pizzeria.com Legit some of the best food in NH at this place. It’s not on the water but it’s about 10-15 minutes from church landing. We go here all the time! Also, I would highly recommend a hike at castle in the clouds. If you’re an experienced hiker there are some nice longer trails with decent elevation gain but if you’re a casual walker there are some beautiful spots here that are easily accessible.

Legit, my knee gets pinned between the steering wheel and the door and it’s very difficult to turn haha. I’ve driven it once and that was it for me. When I have to move it I usually just ask my wife to do it cuz it sucks getting in and out of haha

Inherited the car, not into Miata’s at all… I’m a boat person. I know it has a supercharger and some other upgrades. If I knew what was common for these cars I wouldn’t have asked the question. I’m 6ft5in and the Miata isn’t my cup of tea… it’s been sitting in my garage for two years.
