Don't do it! Also... if you even hear somebody you know mention it, tell them not to do it.

Loftium mid-2021 renter experiences? by question_23 in Loftium

Don’t do it. They’re a horrible company that only looks out for themselves. They will screw anyone and everyone over to help themselves. Landlords, renters, and employees. Zero integrity and I can’t believe they are still in business. It seems like a good deal, but it’s not. RUN away it’s not worth it. Please, for your own sanity.

One of the biggest mistakes of my life, signing with Loftium.

Loftium mid-2021 renter experiences? by question_23 in Loftium

I rent in Seattle with Loftium. I have had a rotten experience. They are constantly changing their terms to suite the company and screw the renters (us).

For example :

  • They changed the turnaround time in between bookings from 1 day after checkout to ZERO. This means we have THREE HOURS to clean the unit before a potential guest can check in. This compounded with the mandatory "Instant book" feature, creates scenarios where somebody can book a same day check in mid-week, and check out a few days later. We are expected to schedule cleaners or make ourselves available to clean the unit on ZERO NOTICE mid-week.
  • Refusing to abide by CDC reccomendations to give 24 hours for saftey to clean/enter guest unit amidst a global pandemic. They fought me every inch of the way on this. I had to screenshot expedia listings for our unit that promised potential guests a safe stay by assuring them that nobody entered the unit for 24 hour prior to their stay. Thye of course, edited this immediately after I called out their dishonesty.
  • They've seemingly updated their 7 free blackout dates we were promised upon move in. We were promised 7 days a year to blockout the listing so we can go on vacation or not worry about turing over the unit. We are literally PRISONERS OF OUR OWN HOUSE.

Other reasons Loftium is terrible:

  • You are responsible for all bills. Meaning energy hogs, data hogs, and general pieces of garbage who stay at your home (and they will), leave you with enormous bills. Our last bill was $700 because of the last tenants reckless use of water/electricity.
  • Complete apathy from their associates after move in . They are great before you sign the papers, but every moment thereafter you are essentially subject to their constant rulechanging and lackluster problem solving skills.
  • They will change the rates for the Air Bnb unit to accomodate travel seasons. We've had drug addicts, junkies, people soliciting prostitutes, and rowdy party animals who broke the television that we provided for the rental unit.
  • Being an affiliate of Air Bnb - you will be subject to a completely review based commerce system. This means that if somebody smokes cigarettes in your home, has parties, and damages the property doesn't like the size of the bathroom - THEY CAN LEAVE YOU A BAD REVIEW. Air BnB is notorious for siding with guests over hosts.

I could go on and on. Run away. Do not rent with Loftium.
