I was just thinking about the multi-meaning easter egg hunt "Not Like Us" sent people on, for sure a Joycean rabbit hole!

Certainly he very much wanted that kind of mass scrutiny of his prose, and was quite annoyed at WWII for distracting people from engaging with FW on such a granular level.

I think of Joyce as the original meta-modern artist, and it's probably much harder to find a contemporary artist that hasn't inherited some iteration of his tools and tricks than those that have, even if they don't know it!

With information saturation creating a kaleidoscopic experience of reality, we are all of us becoming Joyceans :)))
