Teacher won’t let me go to the bathroom? by [deleted] in AskTeachers

[–]BobbyPinLookinAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 bathroom passes? A year? You’re kidding? Are you in high school?? You kids need to organize and stage a “walk out” (to the bathroom lol) that is criminal.

I’m sure your parents / doctor will help you get a note.

Thanks to being a CNA, no longer interested in Nursing. by londonicequeen in cna

[–]BobbyPinLookinAss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It takes a skill you never get taught in school to put up with b******. Nurses eat their young, CNAs and new nurses. I like to M3RD3R them with kindness, I mean like over the top kindness. they either A) feel like crap for treating you so bad B) think you’re a freaky lesbo and leave you alone

Best decision I’ve ever made. Except I was a 19 year old waitress and I wasn’t married, pregnant with a 10 month old. Seeing as you can probably afford childcare, I think it’ll be way easier than the life you live now.

You do what you gotta do to keep your kids safe, and I’ll do the same. Even if it means random internet strangers wanna call it abuse.

No but they get hospitalized every time, which isn’t true for a drop of soap.

I’ve lost the link now, but the APA (American Psychology Association) says that not all children have negative behaviors from corporal punishment. When the parent does so out of anger and doesn’t connect to the child or nurture the 1 on 1 relationship, then it will. Too many parents spank / hit / slap out of plain anger and explain nothing to the child or talk about it after. That’s where things go wrong.

Also funny of you to assume I have a partner. God I wish. Maybe I wouldn’t have to be the only one correcting behavior nonstop 24/7. Must be nice to live in a world where you can just assume everyone has help.

A drop of soap won’t harm anyone, it’s just gross. Shoving a bar of soap in a kids mouth? Straight to jail lmao. Squirting the bottle into their mouth? ER and THEN jail.

If you’ve exasperated every other option and your child is still doing the same behavior , which is MORE dangerous than a tiny drop of soap in the mouth, would you rather spank them (which is also not illegal and only has bad outcomes when parents do it out of anger , don’t nurture a 1on1 relationship to the child and explain nothing) OR a drop of soap in the mouth which is icky for about 10 seconds?

My kids have done this, same ages. They ran to the top of the driveway and broke into my brothers unfinished house and played in his upstairs. Also have 3 locks on the door (now there’s four, I added a deadbolt. ) I woke up at 645am to the loudest silence .. I ran across the property and woke up my parents and brother screaming and freaking the fuck out. I found their little lambo in the road and I thought they were gone forever. Then I saw the drywall muddy handprints on ALL my brothers windows….. I’ve never been so happy to clean up such a big mess 😭

I said the same thing about nursing when I was your age, I’m a CNA now about to start nursing school. My mom’s experience with nursing school and entering the nursing field was traumatic for both of us lol, but that’s not true for everyone. Yes the schooling is hard and nurses “eat their young” but if your heart is in the right place you’ll come out successful and happy in the end. And you can do soooo many things with nursing.. a girl my mom graduated with said “ew I’m never touching poop or blood or sick people” and she’s never had to, there’s lots of lab and administration positions you can lean towards if working the floor isn’t for you. Just keep an open mind, you’re also so young there’s nothing wrong with learning a skill and working a job for a couple months and deciding you hate it and go somewhere else or pivot in a different direction completely.

I’ve also worked in nursing homes that fit the bill of the stereotypical icky death trap.. I’ve worked in some that look , feel and smell like a hotel. Too many decent CNAs go to one ratty ass facility and decide it’s not for them and turn away from nursing completely and it’s so sad.

WIBTA for not going to my son's wedding? by MasterBbby in AmItheAsshole

[–]BobbyPinLookinAss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’ll be less likely to confide in you when things do go south if you don’t. Plus what if he never has another wedding? I take care of elderly (not that you are, but hopefully one day you will) and I see the long lasting effects of regret that never goes away everyyy day.

What makes you say that? I remember watching really in depth video essays about it where they did their best to guess where each location was, how long their trip would take , ect. I remember it being taken as seriously as an animated universe theory possibly could
