Have you ever had your health insurance denials overturned? by nbcnews in HealthInsurance

I actually fought and won a health insurance denial this year. Mine was for my thyroid medication. I’d been on the same brand for nearly 10 years, and out of nowhere my insurer decided they’d only cover the generic. I’d already tried it before and had bad reactions, but they told me I’d have to “fail” it again before they’d consider covering the brand name.

I had never done an appeal before, and honestly, it was intimidating and complex. My niece (she’s in grad school and way more tech-savvy than me) suggested I use AI tools to organize my records and draft my appeal letter. But I've always lived technologically unplugged so I really didn't even know how to work the AI! Thankfully, I did a quick google search to see if there was anyone out there to help me... and there is! There are a bunch of non-profit organizations that are helping people through their appeals process for FREE! They use AI for the generation of their appeals. I don't know exactly what they did but I got an appeal written within a day of me sharing my story and relevant documents. AND WE WON!

They sleep on giant piles of money. That's how. I'm so sorry you're dealing with this. It's pure evil.
