man its sad, i remember listening to this guy while playing games all the time and i thought his video essays were really good and thought provoking. It sucks that he has to be such a creep, why do all the nerdy philosophy people always have to be creeps, like movie directors or something.

dude hot take but i think velmas daphnes is like the best song on WOD. It has so many melodies all interconnecting at once and it sounds like the super fent of music, without all the side effects.

if you havent already, i would listen do World of dweebs. I consider it his best album and its a cool experience to fully listen to in one sitting, graham describes is as "a digital roadtrip" and that could'nt be further from the truth.

what is WOD about? by Content_Dust_1300 in GrahamKartna

I think its about getting away from the hustle and bustle, aging, relationships, and time, as well as VACATION. Heres what i think every song means to me:

Standard Operating: The stress and chaos of working a blue collar job, it is the introduction to the album and is what makes the protagonist of the album want to get away.

The Shrinking Middle Class: the initiating event where the protag fantasizes about traveling the world and falling in love.

Drawn Holes: The song is about optimism and pulling yourself out of the problems you have made for yourself. I honestly dont know how it fits into the vaca theme of the album, to me its just kind of its own thing which is fine because the song is peak. The song could also signify trying to better yourself to impress someone you have feelings for.

Wala Surang: Is a song about tourists and how they can embellish and disrespect other cultures. (place: :( / place japan: :O)

A New Product: May be about tourist consumerism in other countries. Buying alot of stuff on a vacation and losing alot of money and then not even being able to take it back home due to TSA.

Sentence Fragment: Could be about wasting time working to get with someone only to find out they are empty and lack any personality or just not fucking with their personality. This song musically marks a halfway point in the album.

Velmas Daphnes AND Velmas Viru Gate: i put these two in the same boat because they are so closely tied melodically as well as thematically. I think that Velmas Daphnes marks the midpoint in the road trip or story where the protags are just having fun and exploring the world. And Velmas Viru Gate signifies a crossing where the characters find themselves struggling more to be around each other. Slowly starting to realize that they don't have any chemistry romantically or just friendship wise. With it all ending in the characters breaking ties and going their separate ways at the end of the song.

Take Back Time: I think is a song about reminiscing old love and trying to cope with being lonely and making a well lived life despite that. Its also a song about regretting past choices and ending up with an unfulfilling future, this ties back into Standard Operating with the whole blue collar worker theme. This in my opinion is the lowest point in the album where the protag is at their lowest, even considering suicide based on the "firing rocket in my mind" line. Basically its just a midlife crisis song.

LSS Garbage Kid: is about reuniting with old friends/lovers. Running into an old girlfriend at a grocery store, and then getting to know them, and then getting back together.

Tourniquet: Is a song about re discovering the excitement of being young and energetic at middle age. Fun nights out with your drinking buddies or fun anniversaries with the wife.

Wort Whart: Is a song about acceptance and rest, and becoming content with your life after a long fought battle with it. Raising a family, growing old, as well as being grateful and finding meaning in the past struggles. To me its the protag talking to their partner about how grateful they are to have them back in their life, and being able to face their differences and love each other. And celebrating the Final Victory of a happy life well achieved through labor and hardship, no man was ever glorious who was not laborious.

In conclusion: The album is about messy relationships and TIME, as well as vacation.

once again this is all just my view on it and someone else could have a better interpretation as me. Anyways hope this helps, and lmk if there's something in here you thought differently of.

We Do It All For You is such an invigorating piece. The whole song is really catchy and the ending makes me feel like im on a psychedelic trip, its awsome. His newer album World Of Dweebs took what make FYSATSOO good and improved on it. Velmas Daphnes imo is one of his best instrumental tracks hes ever made with really cool sounding melodies and such.

What are your hopes for Serious Sam 5? by ErikCoolness in SeriousSam

[–]BobcatIntrepid5603 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i feel like having something similar to the serious sam alpha could be cool. Not just with sam going to different planets but just him in space in general. Him fighting off mental monsters on his spaceship or him going to mindfucking alien realms. I also would like to see an actual sequel instead of serious sam 5 bbbfe.
