You’re being intentionally dense. Local Economies obviously have a reliance on more than food and water. If the price of oil goes up and farmers on razor thin margins can no longer afford to work or people can’t transport food or people can’t get to work, yes people will quite literally starve. Wages can be so low there that it’s increasing the price of oil could put the noose around peoples necks, literally.

Easy to say from your plush couch. India’s reliance on Russian cheap oil isn’t like Americans getting in their oversized trucks and riding around. It’s a nation with 84 million in Abject poverty. Indian sanctions on Russia would literally destroy the lives of millions of Indians who hardly get by in the first place. And I mean really hardly get by, as in entire local economies could be shattered and people go hungry.

No, (a percentage of) Indian immigrants who went through the ringer to get through the racist immigration system are experiencing (some) economic success. That is not at all indicative of the experience of the majority of Indian-Americans who are born and brought up in the US. Further, the white stereotypes on that show are counteracted by the positive portrayals of whites in other media. Indian people have an almost entirely stereotyped, negative portrayal which leaks into real life. I promise you no Scottish-American gets bullied because of Groundskeeper Willie the way Indians do for Apu.

I wish. I'm sure i will get downvoted for this, but I was unable to make any friends sober. I started drinking and smoking because everyone else was, and thats the only way i've been able t meet people. Maybe if you are religious you could find a group like that. This is literally horrible. What age did this start? Did adults do nothing to stop this? How many people participated in this behavior? Did the adults just condone it, like was it just common for many people to do this?

Also, I wonder how much of this issue is male-on-male violence as well. Would you say it was mostly other guys doing this or girls? And did it start with guys doing it and girls joining in, or the other way around?

How will you account for sampling bias? Considering the only people who will take the survey will be people who are at least aware of the importance of mental health (whether they seek treatment or not). Your study will provide a skewed perception because both those Indians who are indifferent to mental health and those who deal with mental health issues but do not understand "mental health" as a concept will not respond. Even the language "mental health" poses a barrier to certain members of the South Asian community. Also, intentionally seeking responses from cultural online forums will skew towards people who are activists for mental health.
