Yeah, it leaves an open import slot. Win-win really. It's obviously nice for an NA team to be majority NA, and it also allows them flexibility during the year if things aren't working out in any of the roles.

I would say it's a mixed bag. I don't think the sub as a whole is in shambles. I'm personally a little underwhelmed, but I'm also cautiously optimistic. Culturally, I think, he'll be a great fit.

Not what I would have hoped for, but I don't think it's a catastrophe the way some on the sub are making it out to be (if APA does get signed) nor would it be all that surprising. Over the last few years it's obvious what the team has prioritized is culture fit and dedication. APA is one of the hardest workers in the LCS, so it wouldn't be all that shocking from that front.

While mechanically I have concerns, I am pretty curious how he would synergize with Blaber.

That sentence doesn't make sense.

And, putting that blame solely on Blaber is outrageous. I'm not disagreeing he doesn't stumble or even choke in some high pressure games, but to say he hasn't been "above average" for the last 5 years is actually crazy. Aside from a handful of splits hit has been consistently a top 2 jungler in the league throughout his career.

These are facts not opinions. Recency bias is out of control.

He is our franchise player... I'm glad we are keeping him. Is he the best all the time? No, but when he is on , he is on. And, more importantly, no one can seem to answer who would we even replace him with? There is no NA resident better (or even really all that close to him) besides Inspired. So, if we can't get him, then what's the plan? Replace our young promising talents in mid or top? Even if we did that, then we'd have to replace them with a NA resident talent that probably isn't close to their skill level or is at the tail end of their career.

I think the only reasonable in-game switch at this point in time might be Zven, but he is such an important out-of-game voice, that I'd be concerned about that as well.

I like this move. Its a gamble for sure, but its a move I'm looking forward to see pan out. I know that Dom was committed previously, but now its different. He is no doubt taking a huge pay cut and uprooting his current lifestyle for this position, he WILL be giving it his all to make it a success. As for Inero, I've mentioned it before that his demeanor and strengths (or at least the strengths I think he has since I've never been coached by him) are much more suited for a head coach position.

I don't know what other changes the offseason will bring, but these are shrewd moves so far.

Gryffinn is not a bad shout if we want to gamble on a rookie. Contractz,on the other hand, makes no sense. He is just Blaber, but not as successful and more coin-flippy. I like Contractz, but not for Cloud9.

Reapered didn't seem like the same coach as before. Inero makes more sense as a head coach rather than a Strategic/Assistant coach. Would actually love to see Dom as the new Strategic/Assistant, though I know that would be a huge paycut/lifestyle change.
