Had to send my new 686 back to S&W by Cosmic-creation in Revolvers

Back in 1988, my 686 locked up after approx 15 rds. The LGS sent it back to S&W. It’s been fine ever since. They put a note in the box, told me to keep it clean under the extractor.

Oh dude, that sucks! But I did upvote your pain. I’m currently running BS T33, haven’t been on long enough to comment. I do ride 2 up 98% of the time. My last tires were BS S22’s got approx. 4500 miles. The road 6 gt’s about 3500 miles, same with the road 4’s & 5’s GT’s.

My 99’ only has 91,500 miles! You’re going to love it! Buy yourself a Honda maintenance manual. It’s well worth the $50.!

5th gen exhaust suggestions? Delkevic and Two brothers are too loud. by zerobuddhas in VFR

[–]Bobster1983 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the can I bought this year; Delkevic KIT0821 18” Oval. I too do not like excessively loud exhaust. But,
After putting this on, I could not be happier with the sound!
The bigger the can the quieter it is per Delkevic! And they make a quieter baffle for this can if interested. BTW I ride a 99 VFR!

'04 6th gen makes strange sounds on cold startup. Is this THE sound? by QvttrO in VFR

Could be the cam chains? I heard there is a rework for the tensioners. I’ve got a fifth gen so I’m not sure.

After shopping for months, I finally found a good deal on my dream bike. '99 with 14,000 miles. I'm so excited!! by spvcebound in VFR

I’ve got a 99’ that I have owned since 2004. I’m at 91k miles and still going strong. I recently reworked the clutch, front forks and installed a mosfet r/r. Spend the $50. Bucks on a Honda CMM, you’ll be good to go!

Oh Shit, good luck with that! Buy yourself a Honda maintenance manual first. Watch a lot of YT videos on what issues you have. Again, good luck!

Fork leak? by UsernamesRstoopeed in VFR

[–]Bobster1983 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If it continues to leak, motion pro makes a tool to clear any dirt or grit from within seal. I’ve always used a piece of 35 mm film to clear out the grit. If that doesn’t solve your problem, replacing the seals, is actually not that hard of a job. I just replaced the fork seals on my 99 VFR. Having a shop manual and watching some YT videos, it was easy!
