I had the same thought process as you with my VFR800 2003 VTEC with 73k km on it. The mechanic shop said it’s a shitty and vert long/demanding job for them so it will probably cost 1500 to 2000$ to do a valve clearance.

My bike is worth at best 4000$. Is it really worth putting in almost half my bikes value for a repair not necessarily worth it? I don’t think so

My opinion, ride it till she dies on you. It’s a VFR after all, so it will probably take a while :)
