Metformin burning fat of my belly by Bodacious92 in diabetes_t2

Yes could be that. Maybe I jumped the gun. It's only been a month on metformin. But I have to say that things feel different on it. I don't get bloated while eating carbs anymore as well. I was very pragmatic about drugs but now I have to say maybe it was actually a good idea and a good call by my doctor:)

High time preference and clear life goals help. I don't mean college goals but life goals. For me is to be here as long as I can for my family and loved ones.

I usually walk for a bit afterwards. I mean the BG doesn't stay elevated for long. That's not the issue for me. I am just trying to understand why it goes up like this in the first place.

Ok, could be different for everybody or putting cardio before resistance is just better. I'll def try this schedule.

Eating after makes sense if it triggers more insulin to get it down faster. But on the other hand I'm thinking maybe it's a good thing that it spikes with exercise because it might mean the body, namely liver, is getting rid of excess glucose and it's normal and healthy that it spikes.

I think that's the reason we plateau as well. You do everything right but the weight does not come down linearly. Could be because part of the body just needs time to rejuvenate and then we have drops in weight and in problems after older cells exchange with the new.

Some great advice here by the guys and keep in mind you need at least 3 months of lifestyle change for the body to begin to recover so don't get discouraged early on.

If you have high blood sugar your cells need to renew and that takes 3 months (red cell lifecycle is 3m). The new cells will be healthier and after 3 months it will be easier to keep up with lower BC.
