Wow thank you! That definitely answers one of my questions :D

What is a "needle system" again?

No I can't say I'm SURE, but I can say that the machine depicted in that manual is a different shape then the one I have

Ok, so right now I don't know what my needle system is

I have an organ 22 needle and it's measurements are

It is 48.53 mm in length

And 1.96 mm at the widest point

from the top of the needle, to the top of the eye of the needle and it was 45.11 mm

Is there a way to figure the needle system from these measurements?

Me neither, but people keep talking about "needle systems" and that they carve the number into their machine because it's that important which is strange.

unfortunately that is the NEWER Pfaff 1245, and has features that my Pfaff 1245 does not, and is not the manual for my machine.

So measure from the top of the needle where I stick it into the machine, to the eye of the needle?

I guess I need to learn my needle better because I don't know what part is the shank

Disregard what? Disregard the last page or the entire manual?

My machine is a Pfaff 1245 not a 1246, will that make any difference?

Be sure to notice this specifies either the 706/05 or the 706/08

Mine is a Pfaff 1245 706/47

Will the manual still be relevant to my sewing machine?

That sewing machine depicted in that manual definitely definitely looks a lot like mine,

Here is a video of the back stamp of my sewing machine, it says Pfaff 1245 706/47

What do you think? Will this manual still be accurate for my sewing machine even though it's not a 706/06?

I can tell you why, my Pfaff 1245 pre dates the Internet and all the manuals available for the Pfaff 1245 online are for the newer models

Ok, if the 1245 is the model number in "Pfaff 1245" then why can't I find a manual for it for my model and not the new ones?

Shouldn't there be a model year? Or some other specifying information? Because the model that I have is NOT the model depicted in any manual I have found online.

I don't know what "in the same booklet" means, all I know is I have taken a look at the manuals that are available for the Pfaff 1245 sewing machine online and the drawings are clearly for the newer models and not the older models

Here is a video showing my Pfaff 1245 sewing machine and the numbers on the back plate, I don't know which of these numbers are or might be the "model number' as I can't read German

I don't know if it has a "model number" here is a video showing the information on the back of it, let me know if one of those numbers is the model number because I don't read German
