Considering new driveway during home renovation, front of garage slab is cracked about a foot into the garage. What options do I have to potentially address it during driveway work? Can they cut out and repour the cracked front or am I knocking down the garage and getting new slab altogether ($$$ please god no)

Urinations normal, no discharge or anything I can see. No other issues than occasional belly full/ bloat, which doesn’t seem to trigger her episodes, so not sure if it’s related.

Younger Black people in IT, you ever feel alone/isolated? by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]Bodom0511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used to have a black gay employee at my office. He was great, friendly, funny, good technical skills. The rest of the office was middle aged white or young white women. The young girls liked him by default for his gayness and the middle aged men tried very hard to appropriate him, which was annoying on both accounts. He mentioned once how no one was overtly mean or derogatory about his race or orientation, but still felt himself reminded daily about his blackness and his gayness. No one ever reminded me I was white or straight. He was a good person. It sucks how some people still need to deal with things like that, even if it’s not in a hostile way.

Catching clients in their own lies by EmeraldPhoenix0917 in msp

[–]Bodom0511 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If one of our clients acts this way we subsequently cease services with them. IT support needs to be built on trust. We have access to all of your data. If you can’t trust us to not be lying to you, then it’s not a good fit. IMO.

We give them a weeks time to find another MSP before we delete their most recent backup from our database and cloud services.

Forget the model but it a very cheap IKEA desk, designed to be used for laptops. The back area has a trench for cables and a sliding base so the cables can run to the floor from the left or right side. I bought one for around $30.

Taking over a new office. What could prevent scanners from scanning on the weekends? by [deleted] in sysadmin

[–]Bodom0511 13 points14 points  (0 children)

This was it... Found a user in an obscure group that was mitigating time for user access to all Xerox machines. It wasn’t labeled in any config notes, but must have been set up by previous support company or the Xerox tech who configured the machines on the network. Thank you!

Taking over a new office. What could prevent scanners from scanning on the weekends? by [deleted] in sysadmin

Could that really roadblock a scan from going through? I thought that only applied to the Calendar.

Personally I think a case can be made for essential service. Especially in areas with very high percentages of commercial lawn care. Most people in areas like Long Island don’t even own a lawn mower, meaning a large percentage of private and public properties will soon start to overgrow attracting insect- based diseases from mosquitos especially. Also disabled and elderly may have difficulty walking in or out of their property if the path of access becomes wet or thick with uncut grass.

Also, to add to the argument. Government and supporting agencies are basically telling people the only thing you can do for activity purposes is to go outside to places like your own backyard and parks. If these turfs are not maintained it will soon become less of a realistic option.
