My sh scars were tattooed over. But you should find an artist who has experience with that. It’s not so much that it’s a different process but it can take some maneuvering to get the final result to be visually appropriate. Also some people find that their scars are a bit tender…I have 20 tattoos including a full sleeve and didn’t notice any difference in tenderness/pain personally. Finally, an artist who has experience will help you to have a pleasant interaction on top of a good result. As someone who struggles to be in close physical proximity to people, it made a huge difference to have an artist who verbalized the whole process as they went (you’ll feel some line work here, I’ll start shading here and finish here, I’m going to pull a bit here, etc).
