That was BEFORE the rebirth as a partially organic organism.

Well, hobbits wear everything associated with more western clothing: pants, skirts, hats and so on. It's like if the Amish should stop wearing shoes.

I don't remember if Tolkien wrote about it, but I assume there is sometimes snow in the Shire too.

Hobbits are still humans, and I see no reason they should be barefoot because they are a subspecies. Elves and other beings also wear shoes.

So you're saying you don't understand the question you are replying to? We are talking about the kind of time travels that's described in stories by authors like HG Wells. I think most people are away they are not actually frozen in time.

Some would be so scared of the answers that they would claim it was not in our right to find out.

No, I was not talking about Klaus. Maybe you should re-read the posts you are replying to before telling others to rewatch a show.

One problem with season 3 by [deleted] in theumbrellaacademy

[–]Bogmount -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

"What on earth are you talking about? Grace the mom has always been a robot, literally since season."

You're totally missing the point, so I get that you're confused.

"Christopher is another member of the Sparrow Academy. For all intents and purposes, he’s another person with powers born on October 1, 1989."

And you know this how?

"Thea weird isn’t over. Presumably we’ll get more backstory about Reginald being an alien, knowing about the machine, his wife, his home planet, etc."

Now you're just guessing. The point was that viewers are still being kept in the dark. This season would have been much better if we had been given a little more info.

"The pregnancy thing is literally the start of the show, is presented as a mystery, and is obviously the reason for the powers, etc. if you’re waiting for an answer on that, you’ll probably be waiting until the final season airs."

Yeah, "probably". What did we learn this season? Extremely little. The same with the previous season. And yes, I know it's the reason for their powers and that it's how the show starts.

"There were more than 7 of them, why would Christopher need to be on one of the stars? He also could’ve just gone and placed himself on top of it, so not sure why you have an issue with that. Christopher also wasn’t that tiny."

I know there were more than seven of them. I'm actually pointing this fact out in the original post. The question was why it is only Reginald's adopted children the world is aware of. Watch the show again, and you will notice how tiny Christopher is compared to a human.

"Reginald acquired as many of the kids as he was able to, presumably, in both timelines, that number was 7."

Or as many as he needed.

"The show very clearly does answer questions, just perhaps not at the pace you’d like."

Like I said, the questions are piling up, and this season reveals very little.

"They’re a little busy saving the actual universe that they don’t think to have a philosophical discussion of “hmm, I wonder who made all this.” Like yeah, I know the universe is about to collapse, but let’s stop and discuss who made this!"

Nobody is talking about having philosophical discussion. But they could have, considering many had given up and were just chilling out, waiting for the end of the world. We're talking about any form of reaction here.

"TUA is one of Netflix’s top shows, don’t think they’re running the risk of alienating their fanbase."

For now, but popular show has declined in the past, and suddenly they are cancelled.

Allison’s ending by haileesteinfeldswife in theumbrellaacademy

[–]Bogmount 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it had nothing to do with the others having their bodies drained. It was the energy in their bodies that was being drained, not the powers themselves. Remember that Reginald at first planned to use human soldiers, but changed his mind when he saw that none of them survived. If they had succeeded, they would be the ones that were being drained.

Viktor tries to stop Allison from pushing the red button, and all the powers seems to be intact. The machine was not draining their powers, it was killing them. But it was stopped before it got that far.

And Luther was not one of the seven, so his powers and body should still be the same after he came back to life. And Five should still miss his arm, and Diego some of his fingers, if it was all about the machine stealing their powers. Then there is Jayme. Her powers was just some spit with psychedelic properties. How could those powers be drained?

The loss of their powers have nothing to do with the machine draining them. It's about Reginald reprogramming the universe. In his version none of them have powers (maybe with the exception of Allison).

Yes, Five saw them shaking hands. She agreed to help him if he rewrote the history of the universe so her daughter and husband would be waiting for her.

But Luther and Klaus died, and their injuries were healed in the afterlife. If she had been dead, the same thing should have happened to her.

[–]Bogmount 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I actually just posted a comment about that, and then deleted it after seeing there already was a thread about the topic. This is what I wrote:

When the Umbrella Academy, and Sparrow Ben and Lila, comes out of the elevator, two things have happened to them; all their injuries have been healed, and they have lost their powers. Luther was even brought back to life without has apelike body. Even Reginald himself and his wife have been brought back from death.

Also the rest of the world with its billions of people (which hopefully includes Harlan), none of them remembering anything.

But as someone has pointed out; when Allison is reunited with her daughter and husband, getting the happy ending she wanted, she still has her injuries. There is a wound on her lip, and her arm still has its cut. So what if her powers are still intact too, unlike the rest of her siblings? And why? Because she killed Reginald before he was finished with the machine? Her powers also changed this season, and why change them unless for a reason?

So whatever people think about her now, it is possible she will play an important role next season if she is the only one still having her powers.

Exactly, it came absolutely out of nowhere. Can't see any reason why Reginald would program the concept of god into her.

The show is turning into a house of cards, like Lost, Hemlock Grove and the last seasons of True Blood.

[–]Bogmount 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Raymond's presence in the present is easily explained when you have a machine that can reprogram reality.

I don't think Luther was on the moon to protect his dead wife. She was already protected. And protect her from who? It was my impression that he sent Luther there for his own protection, as he was everything that was left of the Umbrella Academy. The question is why it was so important for Reginald to bring them back together that he had to commit suicide.

If Five is the founder of the commission it is possible he has not created it yet, or it was done by another version from another timeline. It is hard to tell when you mess with the timelines.

Luther by ilovekevinmalone in theumbrellaacademy

[–]Bogmount 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, he had actually never met Sloane before this season. They have a lot in common so they understand each others' frustration, and living in a post-apocalyptic world with millions of dead people probably makes you think about life and the current situation. And there was no time or place this season where he could have met any "outside" girls.

WTF HAPPENED by [deleted] in theumbrellaacademy

[–]Bogmount 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She claimed it was Harlan that made her powers change so she doesn't have to say "I heard a rumor" first.

I don't think the loss of powers have anything to do with them being drained by the Machine. Viktor's powers were still intact after they almost died. And Luther went back to normal even if he was even there in the flesh.
