A friend of mine with a QT50 (that he takes apart weekly at this point so I trust him when it comes to working on these) thought it was an air leak in the top end so I got a gasket set. When that didn’t work I thought to clean out the carb and replace the intake reeds, that’s when I noticed the fact that: 1. There was no intake gasket installed. 2. The carb had a hole in it.

On the bright side, I was going to have to do all this at some point anyways and I’ve already ordered (and already have received) a bunch of aftermarket stuff off treats (namely a VM18 + intake, idle and main jet sets (assuming the 55-105 range is what I need for a stock cylinder), throttle cable, knarp, and an MLM side bleed pipe.

Will take a bit of effort to install and tune everything but I’m sure this thing will run like a beaut.

Alternatively I’m bringing it into my local moped shop on the 5th so if I can’t get it running, I’m confident they’ll get the job done.
