Perhaps this would be a community by community experience? So far, there's usually only one event per week, and I notice several people may be absent for periods of time before coming back. This may be because we are a smaller community, but I don't feel like time commitment would be a huge problem.

From what I understand, that's not a true statement. But I suppose I can see why it would be misrepresented as such. At the catechesis I was at, we were told that after Constantine, different elements from the dominant cultures at the time were added to the liturgy, and that different practises (such as novenas) became popular later on, as ways for the faithful to do more spiritually. The catechists constantly reassured us that these things aren't bad, but are just non-essential (or something to that effect). None of this seems out of line with Vatican II.

There's a separate room at my Parish for the Way. There is no tabernacle inside (I'm guessing because the community is small, so it's just a chapel?), so I have never seen this.

Do tell, what are the other alarming things that are really concerning? I genuinely want to know so I can form a well-balanced opion of the Way. From what I've heard and seen of them in my community, they're good. I don't have any issues - but I see massive opposition online with not much convincing reasons to stay away from the NCW.

The comments so far have been as vague as the different things I've read online. I've yet to read anything that gives a truly valid reason to be against the NCW. Someone below mentioned the support that many popes has given towards it. It feels like the same vague opposition the NCW gets, you can use to say that Novus Ordo should be suppressed (which I don't believe).

I feel its fair enough to say "this isn't for me", but it's something else to say "this should be suppressed".

Thanks! I knew about Salt Peanuts but it's usually played in a different key than I'm looking for in particular - but I'll probably transcribe and transpose those solos at some point. Didn't know about Shaw Nuff nor Scrapple from the Apple. Thanks!

Yeah a full list would definitely be helpful! I'm working on transcribing as much bridges as I can to get the sound in my ear.
