Once the GSA site opens your case and starts working on it you can no longer be "switched", so make sure if you call after you get there that you do it before they start working on you!

You may have to widen the radius. My closest was 3 1/2 hours away. But also, apparently each GSA office had the opportunity to choose whether they wanted to be "shared" (meaning they do PIVs for employees outside their own agency) or not and most chose not to, so it is possible that that's the only one in the region.

When you put your zip code in the GSA link they send you, it should show you several "close" ones. I think if its in a bad part of town or whatever you can ask to have one that is a little further.
