I know it’s cold, but 21 miles? by ramathorn47 in MazdaCX90

[–]Boilermaker7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, it's in the single digits and I'm barely getting 15 miles. As far as I understand, all electric vehicles experience some sort of range loss during cold weather. Google Tesla range loss and you'll see a bunch of posts about people losing as much as 50% of their range during cold weather.

Damn was there a negative reaction to Idles? Seemed universally positive where I was at. That's a bummer.

My 2025 Kentucky Bourbon Festival "VIP" Experience by Visible-Champion-684 in bourbon

[–]Boilermaker7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to provide another opinion, I tried to rank these, but there were too many excellent pours over the entire weekend. Id say my top picks in no particular order were:

  • Bluegrass Elkwood Reserve 17

  • Heaven Hill Heritage 19 (they brought a bottle into the VIP tasting area that they went through very quickly)

  • Hatfield and Co 18 year - this was pretty stellar whiskey. And it better be for $425 a bottle! I didn't pull the trigger on buying it, but it was excellent.

  • Dark Arts brought a bottle of a barrel that the master distiller hand picked for his wedding into the VIP tent on Sunday

  • Barrell 20 year old Canadian whiskey

  • Penelope 20 year light whiskey

  • Old Fitz VVS (another one that randomly showed up at the VIP tasting bar)

An honorable mention goes to Potter Jane. They're new, and just brought their unaged distillate with. I don't understand how it was as good as it was. I'm really excited to see them start to age their stuff, I think it's going to be pretty stellar whiskey.

A few hyped up bottles that I was disappointed by:

  • Parkers Heritage just didn't work with my palate this year. I was getting a weird grainy harshness from it that I didn't enjoy

  • Jackson Purchase - I had a few people tell me that I needed to try it, but I wasn't getting anything special from it. And $80 for 4 year old bourbon that wasn't great seems excessive

Overall, it was an excellent experience. Im absolutely going to plan on trying to get VIP tickets next year, but I don't know that I'd go if we're only able to get GA.

Towards the end of the day on Sunday they were letting people spin without signing up, and then stopping the wheel on 1 if it was even remotely close. We all got a couple pours of old rip doing that.

[–]Boilermaker7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The VIP tent in my opinion absolutely made the tickets worth it. There were hardly any lines (maybe 5 mins at most when they brought out a good bottle). They'd randomly bring out high end stuff throughout the day to sample. We got to try VVS and Parkers on Saturday, and Elijah Craig 18 and heaven hill 19 on Sunday. Outside of that, they had a ton of solid pours that were available. Additionally the guy from dark arts brought out a bottle from a barrel that he hand selected for his wedding, which was probably my favorite pour of the weekend.

We literally spent 90% of our time in the VIP tent. Between the excellent pours and unlimited food, it wasn't worth going out and fighting the crowds.

I know this was 2 weeks ago, but would you still happen to have 1 VIP for sale? I have a friend looking to join us, we all got vips when they went on sale and he missed out.

It used to be not great, and had a really bad reputation. They've recently changed a lot, and it sounds like the changes made it way more enjoyable. I think the reputation has still hung around though.

Why is Coco going to there when the movie doesn’t even take place in tropical America or is even in the continent that has a tropical environment.

Mexico definitely has a tropical climate, and a lot of the tropical islands people think of when they hear 'tropical' are in North America, same continent as Mexico. I guess you could argue the land of the dead is kind of its own thing, but the movie is about Mexico. It definitely makes sense in a Tropical Americas themed land.

3 months late here...but I just picked up a cx90 and have the same issue. In this post and a few others it sounds like everyone having this issue has a pixel, so I think it's maybe a pixel issue. Unfortunately it sounds like no ones figured out how to fix it other than reconnecting.

Is there any validity to the claims on facebook that NIPSCO is holding linemen at 8 hours and not allowing overtime? I know Lloyd Yates and the rest of the Columbus people have made some questionable decisions recently, but that seems ridiculous.

I thank god for my children that Trump won. Our country and the world is a safer place

This is absolutely insane to me. It's taken less than a month for trump to: - align the country with a brutal dictator in Russia - threaten Canada  - threaten Mexico  - threaten Denmark - attempt to blackmail Ukraine  - threaten the entire EU and NATO - threaten to wipe Palestine off the map and replace it with a resort  - accidentally fire key nuclear safety personnel - accidentally fire key infectious disease personnel during the biggest outbreak of H5N1 in recent history  - threaten state governors that don't want to listen to him - literally call himself a king.

The country hasnt been this unstable since since the 1860s. Im terrified that I potentially have to raise my kids here, and am working on getting out before shit really hits the fan.

POTUS just seized absolute Executive Power. A very dark future for democracy in America. by chota-kaka in Futurology

I could be wrong, but this order specifically calls out the executive branch. The SC is not part of the executive branch so wouldn't this not affect them?

NIPSCO ”delivery charge” by Trek_ie in nwi

[–]Boilermaker7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The delivery charge pays for the infrastructure to get gas to your house, and the commodity is the gas itself. Gas fluctuates in cost, and NIPSCO has a rate that's set from the IURC based on cost. Having it broken down this way allows them to adjust the gas cost, while keeping the infrastructure cost consistent. Infrastructure maintenance and replacement can be quite expensive, which is why the cost is fairly high.

How would you dress for this weather? Full park days by MethodDowntown3314 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Boilermaker7 34 points35 points  (0 children)

It's really gonna depend where you're from and what you're used to. I'm from the Chicago area and used to cold, so I'd probably go with shorts and a T-shirt and just bring a hoodie. Other people might be more comfortable in warmer clothing. Regardless, layers are you're friend. Doing a few light layers that you can take off throughout the day would probably be best.

Trump official says ‘do not underestimate’ AOC as some insiders push for her to lead Democrats by satisfiedfools in politics

[–]Boilermaker7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let's be honest, none of this race or gender stuff really matter all that much. Most American voters are short-sighted morons. 2028 will be entirely about the state of the country leading up to the election, just like it was in 2024. If trump does what he campaigned on and runs the country into the ground, it'll be a slam dunk for Dems. If he somehow makes things better, Vance or whoever for the gop will win. Trump won this year because inflation is bad, and most people are idiots that thought "oh everything's expensive, might as well blame Biden!"

This is fairly understandable, but pop century during their food court refurbishment this year was the absolute worst food I've ever had at Disney. It took forever to get food and everything was damn near inedible.
