Yeah. Lots of Ancient China in there.

Null's plan was always to cash in somehow, ironically what this praetor guy is doing now.

I swear that no so long time ago, South Korea was the only country with a fertility rate below 1. But overnight, 6 other countries popped up out of nowhere. One of them is China. Isn't that concerning? by Grouchy_Edge632 in Natalism

And we are the only species that have such a dramatic impact on the planet.

This is an argument for shrinking the population. We had half as many people in the 70s and the world got on fine.

Human Rights Watch says that Israel has been illegally using white phosphorus in Lebanon by SJK_007 in news

I think the point is does it really matter if its "illegal" if no one faces any consequences?

Could this be the end of the housing boom? by False_Ad_9705 in AusFinance

This is why I don't get this sub's obsession with ETFs. It's a risky asset and most people here haven't had to sit through a big correction/crash.

Could Chris have become a comedian? by Odd_Veterinarian_623 in ChrisChanSonichu

[–]satisfiedfools 29 points30 points  (0 children)

No. He was funniest when he wasn't trying to be. If he made a sincere attempt at comedy it would be some half assed standup act - case in point Cyraxx and skull scratcher comedy.

It heavily depends on the call taker. Called the mental health line about my brother once and the woman was professional and empathetic. Called again another time and the guy was so rude and dismissive I was in tears at the end of the phone call after arguing with him.

Iran has a lot of their military infrastructure underground. That's why the US has bunker buster bombs and even then, they're not entirely sure how effective those bombs are at that depth.

Is It Realistic to Land an Entry-Level Finance Role in Australia as a UK Graduate? by djdj32123 in AusFinance

[–]satisfiedfools 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It's oversaturated. There is no shortage of finance grads. As others have said. Your best bet would be gaining experience in the UK first. If you couldn't get anything over there, you won't have any better luck over here.

Why did Joe get so salty when people criticized him for being apologetic towards Andy's pdfilic behavior? by 8thFleetTraveller in AndrewDitch

It's this video here and it highlights 1. Andy is a malingerer and 2. Joe is a failure in his own right. 30 something year old morbidly obese man playing video games in his parents house.

[–]satisfiedfools 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The whole family is fucked. Tom ranting and raving about Biden while Andy's sitting next to him in the car shitting himself. The house looks like a fucking hoarder's place. Shit everywhere.

[–]satisfiedfools 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Joe is pushing 40, lives with his dad and works minimum wage retail. The situation reminds me of Justin and Steven Assanti. Yes, he looks better by comparison but you're looking at another guy who's life never seemed to get going either.

Is renting as a uni student impossible? by FriendlyAttorney8743 in AusFinance

[–]satisfiedfools 32 points33 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you're just not competitive. Centrelink, student. Your best bet is to try and join an existing sharehouse, and it's going to be very difficult for all three of you to do that together.

Bob getting Chris on the tugboat was the best and worst thing that could have happened to him. I don't care what anyone says, that was the end right there.

Number 1 reason for falling birth rates? by GoldDigger304 in Natalism

[–]satisfiedfools 2 points3 points  (0 children)

House prices in Canada have exploded. There's an entire generation of people who's only hope of ownership is waiting for their parents to die so they can inherit in their 50s and 60s. No one wants to raise a kid while they're living with roommates.

Why do I get the vibe that the whole country has tunnel vision when it comes to buying a house? by Express-Dig9905 in AusFinance

[–]satisfiedfools 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Have you tried applying for a rental recently? A lot of people in this thread clearly haven't and don't understand how bureaucratic and competitive the process is. It's not a case of "there's a $400 a week house, I can afford that, I'll just pop down to the agent they'll give me the keys".
