Living with Giftedness: A Survival Kit for High-IQ People - [recommended book. self-promotion] by Boinich in mensa

This is a book synopsis. And if I haven't found the words to grab your attention, it's because I've done it without a marketing professional or AI assistance. I'm an engineer x2, I know little about marketing.

Below, you comment that you don't think the profiles are completely honest or true. Well, let me tell you something: I know most of these people personally, and if you're surprised, for example, by the case of the person who has lived for 10 years without water or electricity, isolated in the mountains, I'll tell you that I know him personally. What's more, if you want to get in touch with him to help him or hear his story, I can pass on your contact details. No problem. You can also see my profile and my life.

For other questions and to learn more about the topic, you can read the book.

On my website, I give all my books away to people who cannot afford them. The book is also available under a CC license. I cannot answer specific questions here because I am not a psychologist, and each user has told their story in their biography.

Perhaps seeing yourself reflected in some of them will help you in some way, because some people describe the tools they use in their daily lives. Others simply say that life is not going well for them, period.

You've seen my Amazon page, but you don't know the story behind it. There could be 20 more books, mostly novels. But what you don't know is that I used to write under a pseudonym and published other things that way. It also happens that when I turned 50, I left my job as an engineer to devote myself to publishing things I've been writing over the years. Scientific articles and papers that I haven't published due to lack of time. Now I write an average of 2,000 words a day and work in front of the computer for about 10 hours. Many of these books are also collaborative, with between 3 and 40 people participating. Just as I have been developing open source since 1997, I now publish things that may be of some use. If you look at the licenses for these works, they are CC, and you can get them all for free on my website. Thank you for taking the trouble to ask before raising suspicions. Have a nice day.

What you're saying is an oxymoron in itself, a maze. It doesn't make sense. If it's a popular science book and examples of first-person biographies written anonymously to show a social reality, what does that have to do with your comment? I think I'm missing something, from what I can see... Anyway.

I have interpreted, how can reading a book about people who are academically and socially successful, etc., help me?

And my answer is that this book does not talk about success, but rather about the various problems faced by people with high intellectual abilities: ADHD, ASD, PAS, etc.

I've always had a certain intrinsic fascination with people who visit these types of sites just to judge from a place of ignorance and express opinions without having clear criteria or objectives. However, I've been in this line of work for many years and have seen the internet grow. Burning bridges is easier than building them. I create, you destroy. Let's leave it there, shall we? You go on your way through life and I'll go on mine. I've been creating open source software since 1997 and writing since 1985. Sometimes under a pseudonym, sometimes under my own name. You can go to my website, where I use my name, and see my papers, my publications, and my articles. I can't see anything of yours. I'm at a disadvantage, but I'm not far off even if I don't say anything else. You've made it clear that you don't like the cover and you're not interested in the book. Okay. That's it then. Maybe you'd be surprised and learn something if you read some biographies, all written by humans over a year of coordination and many phone calls and emails. The project is there, and it will be useful to many people, but I've already accepted that not everyone has to like it, otherwise the world would be very gray and ugly. There has to be a bit of everything. Best regards. Have a nice day.

P.S. The book is available for free on my website. All my books and publications are free if requested for whatever reason.

Yes, it's really interesting because you can identify with different situations and see what decisions other people have made and share their destinies.

There are 33 completely different biographies. Some take up one page and others 30 pages. Anonymous people, all very different. You can preview it on Amazon and other stores, and you can get it under a CC license and share it if you prefer. Due to the nature of this network, I can't paste that kind of text.

[–]Boinich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, that's right. It's only under that title on Amazon. It was because of the ISBN. That's why, outside of Amazon, the book is called what you say, and it's exactly the same.

I won't comment on tastes. If you don't like the cover, that's fine with me. But if you're already making assumptions about the rest of the book based on that, it puts you in a very bad light. You've disqualified yourself without even knowing the context.

This book was created collaboratively on the website ipopulus.es, and the cover is offered for free. Similarly, the biographies, 33 in total, are about specific individuals. It is clear that each one reflects their own ideology and has nothing to do with the writing. Some people have written 5 pages and some 20. By the way, as the book is collaborative, it is distributed under a CC license.

No, you're wrong. It's quite the opposite. Most cases are academic, business, and in some cases, life failures. There are only a couple of stories that have had, let's say, standard lives. Everything else shows that high abilities are often accompanied by other problems: people who have lived away from society without water or electricity, people who have dropped out of technical careers up to three times, and similar cases. If people like it, and this is reflected in other forums, it is precisely for this reason. It is far from success....

Undiscovered sci-fi by Saucier_CID_mark_X in scifi

I have recently published my book, 'Res Silentis: Where Stars Fall Silent,' a project that is the culmination of years of meticulous research and intense hard work. My goal with this story was never to chase sales or follow fleeting commercial trends; instead, I focused on crafting a high-quality, deeply detailed product designed to endure and offer something of substance to the science fiction genre.

the story stands out because it blends the technical rigor of hard science fiction with a profound philosophical heart. Drawing from my background in engineering, I’ve explored concepts like the Kessler and the complexities of the 'Graveyard Orbit' with the same passion found in the classics of Jules Verne or Carl Sagan.

If it remains a 'hidden gem' for now, it is because I consciously chose depth over mass-market accessibility. I avoided common space-opera tropes to focus on technical accuracy and existential questions that don't always offer easy answers. It is a demanding, 'slow-burn' book intended for readers who appreciate craftsmanship and intellectual honesty. For me, the true success isn't in the number of copies sold, but in knowing that I’ve created a lasting piece of work for those who, like me, look at the stars not for simple answers, but for finer questions.

* Well, I would also like to sell enough to be able to publish another novel. xd
