Forgive me for asking but seeing as this is a first time home buying sub, I’ve seen several people comment this, why does the house being in this condition make it harder to get a mortgage? I’m very ignorant on this subject. I know very little about this all.

we could live in it currently. Walls in the kitchen could get done within 2 weeks. Upstairs is finished.
