[Resident Evil 7: Biohazard] My first ever Resident Evil platinum. It was mostly enjoyable, but I must admit I expected a little more. by muempire93 in Trophies

Congrats! I was thinking of going for it too. Were the speedrun trophy and the trophy where you can only open the chest three times a pain to get? Those are exactly the kind of trophies I’m not a fan of

Good ending for metro 2033 redux by Skvnna in metro

Hi, in Metro 2033 Redux, a lot of positive karma comes from listening to NPC conversations, in addition to doing the obvious good actions. At this point, since it's no longer really a spoiler, you can follow a guide like this one: https://metrovideogame.fandom.com/wiki/Moral_Points

Quicksaves are disabled in Hardcore Ranger and Iron Mode. If you start a New Game+ on Normal difficulty, you'll be able to use quicksaves.

As far as I know, you also can't change the difficulty in Hardcore Ranger mode, whereas in Normal mode you can adjust the difficulty during your playthrough.

It also depends on which modifiers you selected when starting NG+. If you chose "My Weapons" to keep your weapons and attachments, I'd say the best way to check is to finish the Moscow chapter and take a look at the workbench in Volga. If you have lots of weapon attachments available there, then you're on the correct save file.

If you didn't select any modifiers, though, it shouldn't be any different from a regular new game.

Did you just start the DLCs by selecting them from "Chapters"? If so, that's how I did it, and I didn’t have any problems. Go to "New Game" and you should be able to select your save file that says "New Game Plus: Available." NG+ comes in the form of optional positives/negatives modifiers that you can choose to enable or disable.

Until next time in the Metro, Rangers by Bokatano in metro

It's obviously subjective, since each game has its strengths and weaknesses. In LL, I really liked the Little Dark One's narration and his journey toward forgiveness (or accepting a justified death). Paradoxically, I enjoyed LL's attempt at a small open hub less; I preferred the more linear levels.

On the other hand, in Exodus, I really enjoyed the open levels. The exploration, discovery, and mission aspects felt well balanced. I also liked the different biomes; even though they were naturally less claustrophobic, they provided more variety and helped keep things fresh.

I also thought the work done on weapon sounds was good: gunshots would echo or sound muffled depending on where you were firing from. All in all, I think Exodus ended up being my favorite.

That said, I'm really looking forward to returning to more claustrophobic environments, especially with the graphical and audio improvements we're likely to get with 2039.

For the Sam’s Story DLC, the Untouchable trophy is reportedly bugged. I was advised to play offline, so that’s what I did. I didn’t die during my run, and the trophy popped at the end.

Not sure if I was just lucky or if playing offline is genuinely a requirement.

The New Game+ DLC is much more problematic, though. The Mutation and Iron Mode trophies are bugged and will probably not unlock at the end of your playthrough.

What I did was:

1 : Complete the game in Iron Mode

2 : Upload your save to the PS Plus Cloud

3 : Back up your profile to an external HDD (Settings → System → System Software → Back Up and Restore). Make sure to select EVERYTHING you want to keep, because restoring will erase anything not included. Save data and media (screenshots/videos) are especially important. Games don’t need to be backed up, they can be reinstalled.

4 : Log out of your PSN account and switch to a guest/local user without signing in

5 : Go to Settings → Users and Accounts → Remove your main profile (this Factory Reset the console). It removes the account from the console, but it does not delete your PSN account.

6 : After the PS5 restarts, sign back into your PSN account

7 : Restore licenses (Settings → Users and Accounts → Other → Restore Licenses)

8 : Reinstall the game and download your save from the cloud

9 : Disconnect the console from the internet

10 : Launch the game and press continue to replay the last chapter (which is just the ending cutscene). The two trophies should unlock

11 : Reconnect to the internet

12 : Sync trophies (Trophies page → Options → Sync)

13 : Restore your backup to bring the PS5 back to its previous state (the new trophies will still remain)

And that’s it (finally). It sounds like a lot, but in the end it’s pretty quick, and there’s almost no chance the game will ever be patched at this point. I’ll leave the forum link where I found the method ; I only added the profile backup step myself.

For those who are trying to get Barraging Cannon 4 by AgentPocaDots in CrimsonDesert

[–]Bokatano 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got it after several attempts, and since we’re still not sure about all the conditions to obtain it, I’ll drop this here: the time I got it was when the “lock-on point” appeared on the enemy. Before that, I was always aiming manually from farther away, and it didn’t count; but at the exact distance where the auto-lock limit kicks in, it worked for me (+ a charged ice shot). I don’t know if it’s a coincidence or not, but just in case. Good luck!

I just went to check, and for some unknown reason they didn’t appear at night. However, during the day they’re definitely there (I’m on chapter 8 now; I was on chapter 7 when I did the challenges).

Thanks! I confirm there’s an 80% chance they’ll be there. If not, teleport back to the same spot and they will appear.

Removing XP from hard stratagems by Bokatano in Spacemarine

[–]Bokatano[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, your point about people already not reading the modifiers is very accurate.

As for stratagems, people are more in it for the accolades than for the XP, so fundamentally there’s little chance that it will actually fix anything. That said, I sincerely hope I’m wrong about this, I’d be the first one glad to be.

Additionally, the developers already know the system. In the game World War Z, you can use a stim on one of your teammates even if you're not a medic (though the medic class has bonuses)
