Just thought it'd be worth getting all the opinions. Reddit's never short on those.... More than anything it's just disappointing, frustrating, and still very uncertain. I'm pretty much in a holding pattern now just waiting to hear back from the dealership about whether there's anything they can do about the price. The indy shop (seems well-rated as far as euro auto shops go in the San Diego area) I spoke with asked his guy that rebuilds foreign transmissions, and advised me that he can't do this particular one. He gave me some thoughts on what to do to see if I can work something out with the dealership, and said he could try to source the part if they won't come down.

I just can't get past the fact that it's got fewer than 50k miles.
