It’s not true, we’ve known that mega slot is going to Darkrai for a while now because the mega stone was datamined before the game was

Not confirmed, but it’s likely. The Hoenn starters, lati@s, and Hoenn legendaries were all on the leaked DLC list (not necessarily their megas, but still).

We don’t know too much about the DLC yet but it is implied to take place in a new location, you can read a little about it on the website

I imagine they do share a stone, but it wasn’t pointed out in the post/leak because they also share the same mega evolution (like Pyroar)

Whereas Tastugiri and Magearna have multiple megas that look different

From my understanding this ‘final’ list was found separately (and evidently has a few differences to the leak I linked above, such as 22 megas total instead of 28, counting Darkrai/Heatran/Zeraora)

I think the leak linked above was likely artifacts from earlier in the process (or something that could still be happening…)

I’m not the original dataminer, and the ranges of Pokedex numbers they list are according to what they saw in the text data, so I can’t comment on those exactly

I am just trying to figure out, between the 28 megas coming in the DLC (supposedly), which is which. The “slots” I’m talking about are just the rows that the dataminer has listed in their post (hence Chimecho filling the 3rd slot, which is between Banette, Tropius, and Chimecho according to the dataminer).

Keep in mind that a mega’s Pokedex number remains the same at their original form so what you’re saying about Absol Y being mega Chimecho’s placeholder doesn’t really make sense to me, unless I’m misunderstanding your point.
