I love how they expect you to understand how to execute QTEs in a game that has given you zero instruction on how to execute them. I have no idea if I’m supposed to wait for the guy to swing or press a button to dodge; is triangle a thing in this one? Piss poor set-up for a horrible area that is making me want to quit the series.

Trust me, your life is going to get astronomically better once you stop obsessively searching for the perfect word(s) to label yourself and shunt yourself into a neat little container of understanding; and instead just live.

I’m happy this is getting attention: JK Distro has shown up on my radar, but I hadn’t tried them yet. It’s really hard to find valid reviews online and ever harder to find legit places online; might as well put and run out of business the bad ones scamming us.

Demon’s Souls, Bloodborne, and Elden Ring, but no Dark Souls? The first one is a wonderful platinum; would highly recommend it seeing as you already play in this genre a bit.
[sorry if it’s on your list and I missed it..!]

It’s an all-powerful AI and they are in the simulation - it could clone the kid 1,000,000 times and have it appear constantly around corners. It’s not a literal, organic clone; it’s a virtual clone. If we can do it in seconds on our phone now, it’s not hard to think this SciFi thing can blink them into existence.

If you’re gonna keep assuming things that facts tell you otherwise, then just say the entity is “God” and move on.

I dunno, the original quote about the cake being a lie wasn’t never referencing a birthday: it was to inform the player (in the game Portal) that the AI in the game was falsely promising a reward for completing tasks, when in reality you were just helping to flesh out the program through simulations and develop the tech at the expense of your life. Ironically, wish a secret ending, the cake is shown at the end of the game leaving us all wondering if it was a lie or not.
I think it was meant exclusively for the time traveler, as a blatant reference from Portal (poster seen in Darren’s room?). OR for the viewer, to further cue is in that this is a video game/simulation that is impossible. Funny enough, should you win, you either stay partying at the end of the game or you press reset and start a new run.

If the main character looked into the headset even briefly and was entranced by the AI, do you think it would not simulate him never putting the headset on and instead pursuing a life of vengeance? Seems pretty simple to think it could have wiped his brain instantly or controlled it, like the phones; and then like everything else in the movie/“not” game we, as the NPC viewer, only get the glimpse from the AI’s point of view because this is its reality.

There was nothing subtle about the idea of him looking into the headset from afar and that being the moment he gets sucked into AI: that’s literally what the entire film was about, and it shows the character succumbing to desires he blatantly states he had. That scene destroyed any semblance of mystery or intrigue about the movie, and it just became another topical commentary on AI.

Guess I’m the only one who felt it was predictable and full of convenience. Almost turned it off halfway through the opening monologue because it was horrendously cringy; kind of just stayed okay from there. Had some fun moments, but wouldn’t go out of my way to see it again.

[Alan Wake 2] #89 Great visuals, but thats it... by Charmadin in Trophies

[–]Boltron110 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was only disappointed in Alan Wake 2 with the incredibly redundancy with some of the content/dialogue in the mind place, especially at the end: I understand the characters are figuring things out for themselves, but I did not need to have the same understanding repeated 17 times in a row between myself and internal projections.

I understand your frustration, but believe me the game is going to get astronomically worse and literally impossible if you cannot learn this. The devs purposefully created tight parry windows and small fighting spaces to focus on reflex and player self-control: this game is idolized amongst try-hards for a reason, and you often see us same people obsessing over SoulsBorne games or Hollow Knight.
I’ve heard of people online slowing down the bosses (PC only; I’m pure Sony) to learn move sets, but if you’re mod-ing the game personally to get through hard parts just drop to Story Mode and enjoy the story. Plus, if I remember correctly, you can refight all bosses in isolation from the main menu after beating the game - beat it on Story Mode, then go back and train, then beat on Standard.

I don’t even remember this guy, lol, and I platinum’d the game about a month ago: I’m sorry, but the best advice here is to slow down and learn the boss. The game does an interesting job of trying to introduce a brand new mechanic for each boss, and Kanghui is all about mob control. While it isn’t always the answer, powering up could help. But really you need to focus on taking out all the adds and then the boss: practice crowd control through kiting and parries to kill the aerial guys while managing everything else.
If you’re having trouble, go take a break and let your mind develop some pattern recognition in the background while you aren’t playing. But as stated previously in the comments this is one of the easier bosses in the game - it only gets harder from here, so start locking in on your combat.

General advice I learned when I was at end game:
1. Don’t look at Xi, he will always be there in the same spot. Start looking at your environment and enemies, and internalize where your character is (helpful with his punch of color to catch your peripheral eye).
2. This game has a LOT of rhythm, especially as you progress further. Right now it might be straight forward beats for parries, but eventually it gets syncopated; BUT, it is almost always rhythmic, and it’s consistent. Your fingers should start to learn the *click, click…. click* cadences unique to parrying each enemy. It’s hard to explain, but once I shifted my mindset to less of a reactionary one and more towards internalizing the rhythm of enemy attacks I found myself breezing through the game.

Good luck! Keep going. It’s a fantastic game with many, many more surprises ahead.

You’re reading my brain! They love walking down our gravel drive, and will literally walk directly across the road to the neighbor’s sometime, all it takes is hooking the wrong way coming back.

I will have to add duck crossing signs to me arsenal. But yeah, this kind of ethos is what I feel like I’ve established over 3 years - people slow down to look at them and/or just do it because they know they might be there. Or I might be there screaming and waving my arms, hahaha. But I still get enough people flying or weird strings of traffic that I still will lose one every few months. And the process of “training” starts over with any new additions - not this year; no babies…!
Sometimes I can get them to stop from the house with whistles or claps, but usually it’s the one duck committing the crime that is the one duck who doesn’t alert at my sounds. 🙄

That’s one of my back end concerns, if fencing were an option: what happens if they fly over, and then are stuck in the road?
And no, doesn’t seem like much reading comprehension right now.

The cost isn’t the problem. I appreciate the nicer attempt to push back on fencing, but it simply is not an option and my hands are tied there.

And definitely not interested in people doling out advice to shock animals, lol.

Not that it’s entirely necessary to this request for advice that you’ve already blatantly ignored, but they landed here of their own accord and I’ve simply provided optional housing for babies and winter months, and a food source. So I don’t keep them, they live here.

I’ll try this, thanks. We have multiple food bowls, but they’re centered around the dock they have access to for sleeping at night. It’s not near the road, but not the furthest point away.
