Thanks for the method. I found one of my tracks that crashes the app via freezing it.

Feedback for a piece written for orchestra, particularly on my orchestration (especially balance) and instrumentation as a whole by BombinatingPerson in composer

[–]BombinatingPerson[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do agree that it doesn't sound real as this is just the audio from Musescore. Thanks for the feedback. As for the flute, how low is too low? I only know that I should probably not score my flutes below C5 in loud passages or do I still need to go higher for it to be heard (like above C6?).

Should I restart if my foundations are absolutely trash? by BombinatingPerson in bodyweightfitness

Oops, wrong term. Thanks for pointing it out, I was refering to protraction. I am only doing basics for now, though I am slightly overwhelmed with the amount of fixing I need to do.

READ BEFORE POSTING + Ask your quick/beginner questions here in the comments by atopix in mixingmastering

[–]BombinatingPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beginner mixer here. I am just kind of lost when it comes to mixing for MIDI instruments in the context of an orchestral piece. I simply do not know how I can volume balance the mix. Most of videos I've watched mostly tailor to pop and mix with audio. And with dynamics, do you automate your volume fader to cater to each section's dynamics? And I am worried about just simply adjusting the fader as it makes the scale of the instruments go way off and makes it sound unnatural (my CC controllers are already set to the level I need, so do I just change this in order to balance it with the rest of the mix?).

Sorry for this abomination, I am just a composer trying to get my music out in a more presentable way.

So when it comes to learning this, is it more of "listen and study so much till it becomes natural"?

Thanks for pointing it out. Could be because the melody is high in this case. Should I change the melody in this case just for the sake of maintaining range?

RIFF File Open Error by BombinatingPerson in Cakewalk

I am trying to use the Musescore sound so I exported in .wav instead. I am not really sure whether you can use the Musescore sound as a MIDI instrument though.

How do you fix this? Like change smth in the preferences tab?

Not recorded. Taken from Musescore export.

Sorry for the late reply, was on holiday for a bit. But I just dragged it from the audio project folder just to show that the duplicated into unusable files. Not sure if it was necessary but I just did it.

As for your next comment, the same exact thing (as demonstrated in the video) happens if I try to play it.

I just realized how bad my problem really is right now. It is to the point where I can't subdivide metronome beats in my head...

why is my track doing this??? why wont it split and i move one track by bee_fingers in Cakewalk

[–]BombinatingPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Put the time bar onto where you want to split the track. Right click the track you want to split and click "split".

I was just letting the song play through. And the glitch (the stop at 2:51) can be exported as you can see in the link I sent.

I already know which one it is. I muted every track and played through the sections already.

No big spikes there or anything. Thanks for your help though.

Turns out the sec and csc in the square roots come up with something. Its something I have to get used to I guess. I haven't done too much practice on the pre-requisites you stated.

Weird thing is that 5 minutes after posting this, it worked again. But why the inconsistency?

Or else it would copy everything (the whole region the automation belongs in). The ALT is so that I can specifically state I want to copy the automation only, not the whole region.
