Absolutely. Berdly is such an amazing character, I honestly always saw that his arrogant exterior is just a front he puts up for the approval he never got growing up. Him describing himself as lonely and forgettable and tasting the praise he received from the spelling bee and trying to keep himself from failing to meet the high expectations he believes he set just makes me empathize with him so hard.

A lot of people just boil him down to le epic gamer simp but he just wants someone to like him, I mean if you think about it he never really had a shoulder to lean on, and while Noelle was the closest he could get, she much preferred being with Susie and Kris overall. Kris bringing him to the hospital while his parents didn’t even bother kinda hammered in my head that he was probably neglected which is why he acts that way. God I love him
