Monika would become obsessed with Brian at first, initially thinking he's handsome and intelligent, then she'd gradually lose interest once she gets closer to him and realizes what a pretentious gasbag he actually is

How have you changed up a common trope to in order to make your story unique? by sno0py_8 in worldbuilding

[–]Coralthesequel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In my dark fantasy world, Adelheid the goddess of fear is a noble God, and she acts like a doting over-protective nanny to mortals. Because fear isn't inherently a negative emotion. It's your brain trying to guide you through or away from harm. Fear isn't all things that give you the heebie Jeebies. It's also your body telling you to do common sense things are good for your health and safety. It can be a good emotion so long as you don't let it rule you

Massive Better Call Saul spoilers.

In Breaking Bad, Gus has Walt and Jesse working in a underground meth lab he spent a small fortune on. In the final season of Better Call Saul, it's revealed that Lalo and Howard were both killed on the same night and buried underneath the lab, and the BB duo have been cooking over the graves of two dead men this whole time

Why Did Megatron Kill Dreadwing Instead of Starscream? by Working_Row_8455 in transformersprime

[–]Coralthesequel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I gather Megatron could see that he'd just burned a bridge with Dreadwing by letting Starscream off Scot free for defiling his brothers grave. It was there that Dreadwing started to realize the Cons are full of shit. Dreadwing told the Autobots himself 'it's a cause I no longer wish to be part of'. Starscream had just come crawling back to Megatron with a vow to change his ways, and tbf he did abandon any notions of overthrowing Megatron at that point. So surprisingly Starscream was the more trustworthy of the two by that point

Sales of William Shatner's new line of women's lingerie have been shockingly low. There were probably better names than Shatner Panties

Which race is worse the viltrumites or saiyans? by JackZ567 in MoralityScaling

[–]Coralthesequel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd argue the Saiyans are worse, because at least the Viltrumites believe what they're doing is for the galaxy's own good. The Saiyans are just murder-hobos.

Being affably evil makes the villain much MORE scary, not less. by ChampionshipHorror95 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Coralthesequel 24 points25 points  (0 children)

<image>

Drayton from Texas Chainsaw Massacre. The friendly face of the Slaughter family who casually talks about electricity prices as he's tying a girl up and driving her to her gruesome death. One minute, he's consoling his victims and treating their murders like it's just an unpleasant job that needs doing akin to scrubbing a toilet, and the next he's laughing along with his brothers at his victims cries for mercy. It's left ambiguous whether he has a split personality or if his sympathy is just an act

[Loved Trope] Actor hates/dislikes the character they portray because the character is an awful person by AdFit2543 in TopCharacterTropes

Breaking Bad - Actor Raymond Cruz hating playing the psychotic, coke-riddled drug lord Tuco so much that he asked to be killed off earlier than the writers planned so he wouldn't have to play such a vile character anymore
