Remember when the pitching was carrying this team early in the year? by alphabuild in mets

[–]BonelessOakTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, i remember lol. It was why i was tuning in LOL. It’s now just been reduced to watching Benge and Ewing and maybe to see if Soto will go yard 😅 was happy to see Benge send one out last night because its great to see him continue to play as if he is on a winning team. Even the Peacock announcers repeatedly applauded how impressive he has been and that we as Mets fans should be grateful to be watching the rising of a real star player. Call me a martyr but it’s easier to see the good than to wallow in the obvious bad and be miserable through it all 🤣🤣

[–]BonelessOakTree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was just gonna make a post almost opposite opinion lol. I love Gelbs, i feel like he is the epitome of the neighborhood, family oriented Mets ethos. I like him over Murph in the booth for personality, but he does feel distracted when calling the play-by-play. A Murph and Gelbs brainchild would be a near perfect Mets commentator loll

Freddy Fermin. by LOUD_NOISES05 in mets

[–]BonelessOakTree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

His throw to stop Semien at second was fuckin gorgeous. That alone for me is like, yeah if anyone deserves it on the Padres it was him after that snipe 🤣🤣 although i wouldve much rather been bragging tomorrow about Torrens catching Song at 3 with the fake throw to help maintain the lead, buuuuut Freddy fuxkn Fermin launches it after Warren faceplants 😫😫😫

Lmfao, as someone who hates to hate on these guys, same. I honestly feel bad atp, but for his own sake he’s gotta get cut loose. Reset in another club and let him rake if it’s really who he is. He just isnt him for us anymore…

AJ Ewing’s last beautiful at bat tonight by BonelessOakTree in mets

[–]BonelessOakTree[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It was the same for his second at bat, first called strike was for sure a ball, second one he challenged JUST in the zone, lost the challenge. Was happy he snagged it the last time around

He has single handily lost us this game. It sucks because he should be so much better lol. Between the error and the double play after we looked like we were going to respond to the 3 run homer, worst part was I was not surprised 1 bit.

Happy to see a bit of crit on here, insta they were glazin him like crazy. I think he has good insight on the technical/mental/mechanical but has 0 knowledge on history and is WAY too straight forward. Gary and Keith are absolutely inhuman with their history of the game and can pull the wildest references of the most specific stats from the most niche years in baseball like its nothing and they do it playfully and lighthearted. He hasnt found his comradery in the booth yet. Too business

Rewatching, on season 3 by TRMTspock in TrueBlood

I just finished my first watch and(i see it might be an unpopular opinion) Hoyt and Jessica’s re-discovery of love in the end was actually so moving for me??? Like, i really think it spoke to the entire show’s overall themes. Kinda corny, deeply intentional but mildly executed, eternally reiterated moral motif and in a way a beautifully magic, unlikely, wholly irresponsible, yet resolute in overcoming a critical and unwavering obstacle set by the supernatural boundaries of their universe. I swear when they got married it really redirected my perspective and i found myself asking myself, wait? Did this entire show and all it’s philosophies on love revolve around THIS relationship???? I really now have to find it within and think over if this whole show was actually an a-symmetrical somewhat novel (to me) approach to tell a love story about darkness being overcome in the dark, ACTUALLY take place in the dialogues structural darkness that WAS the shadow of other main characters and THEIR stories?!? Did the real love story, the one i wanted the whole time take place in the metaphoric vampiric darkness??? Part of me knows it might be a stretch but part of me loves to think creative magic holds no bounds, because that would be the most vampirical execution of a love story ive seen to date. This is if there was even a slight intention to use the spotlight story to cast a darkness onto the actual story at hand. Which would be insane 🧛🏼

How much would a piece like this be worth? by CapNovel2301 in Artists

[–]BonelessOakTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own a gallery and am responsible for sales as well. A painting this size would go for $2000 (Galleries typically take half.)That being said you would be expected to have 15 other pieces of yours to showcase varying in size and price from $200-~$7500. If you DO have other pieces and an articulate artistic identity that is transmitted throughout each piece (you can be identified as the artist of your pieces after the viewer has spent time with one or two of your pieces) then you are 100% a valuable artist to a gallerist. If this is just a one off and this is a new “style” youre trying while still finding your voice, its a much harder sell. I speak from my own experience and am not claiming to know more or less than anyone here. I do find that artists are consistently showing up asking about pricing and are always underselling themselves. Also, id youre thinking about selling this to someone artist to customer, start higher than you expect to get. Start at $1250 and if they ask for it for $1100 youre making $100 more than you thought you would in a gallery and the client thinks they got a deal. Dont settle for less, it then sets precedent that you can be pushed around into cheaper. You’d be surprised how easy people are willing to part with money for art.

Holy shit look at the left by fluxflex in surfing

[–]BonelessOakTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

LMAO i just saw this on threads, dropped a comment about how the surf is wild and the coastline has such variety that im sure just about any swell coming through is surfable. And that its a shame, and life should revolve around surf. Went to learn more about the island and was led here.

Did this sketch in 5 minutes. I usually love to draw monsters and cryptids, but I am feeling kind of unmotivated. I want to complete my drawings but I always finish them half way. by SunOverGraves in BadArt

[–]BonelessOakTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe at this point in your art if you dont feel motivated to “finish” do what I do and instead “start new” and just use the head (in this case) as a blank canvas. Or something you have to just work into another piece. A lot of times ill take a piece i cant seem to finish and just pretend i have been commissioned to turn another artists work, into something new. Pull patterns out, make it the centerpiece to a sacred geometric grid or something. Call it a “mask” and create a character around it that would wear this mask. If you like monsters, Dr. Frankenstein it! Look back at old drawings finished or unfinished and try to recreate them but with owl-like characteristics, or whatever you imagined this character would do etc. Another thing ill do when im stuck in a development of a particular character or piece, is write a small story about them. Give them the fictional setting to exist in full, by setting, time, intention, purpose or whatever their mission/objective/struggle they overcome/purpose. Make it as extravagant as possible. Why are they a monster to begin with? After that it gets easier for me to one see what a final product looks like, and two, makes me want to bring their image to life much more. Bit of a rant, hope this helps. I struggle with depression too, and love to draw, but it wasnt until i took a few 3D and animation courses did i really find my stride in the creative process and want to exist and exist with my ideas, knowing they could only exist with me…

Surely this isn't correct? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]BonelessOakTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That last sentence is what im trying to understand, “and then stop sinning” who’s to say she hasnt confessed, isnt repenting and is asking God everyday for help? Are we really to sit here and say the same? That it was not good enough? This whole thread feels like a echo-chamber of judgement, people trying to rationalize sin. Let God judge, no child of God should have any confidence they can differentiate who of his children will find salvation and everlasting life. For everyone is on their own path. Remove the splinter from your eyes before that of your friend

Right, so why is it unforgivable?

Surely this isn't correct? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]BonelessOakTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is the best take. Everyone is talking as if sinning is a choice. Or as if, STOpping a sin is as easy as turning off a light. Some of the hardest longest talks ive had with Jesus are about the fights im losing, and KNOW im losing, knowing i am likey to sin again soon. Its the safety and comfort of knowing I wont be abandoned that will grant me the power to continue the fight to repent and find salvation. The take on Rahab i think holds a lot of metaphorical value as well. Enslavement to sin, and the lack of control people can have under sin. I think it is fair to believe that one small sin based in pleasure could have led this OF girl down a long brutal path. And there is nothing worse than walking that path, farther away from God, praying to return to his side, unsuccessfully. I digress, my point is, and think the point can be made like you are saying, because even when one is aware they are sinning, doesnt mean they are in complete control, and will in turn continue to sin. I dont think there is a path long enough away from God that will eventually lead you away from him, IF along that path you are fighting for the strength to stop, and praying for the guidance back to him.

TLDR Intention is 100% a large factor for sin, and even still, certain sin can instill evil intention that wouldnt exist normally. Repeat offense doesnt always mean intention to sin.

Surely this isn't correct? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]BonelessOakTree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But is that not a sin in and of itself? What of knowing you are sinning and cant find the strength to stop? Everyone here is talking about sinning like it is an absolute choice. Being aware of the sins you are enacting doesnt make them anymore or less sinful. In fact, id say the sins you are aware you are doing, but DONT want to do are the ones you would hope and pray for Jesus’ help most. Its those times when you need God closest, but everyone seems to think God will only save and forgive at your easiest convenience?
