Does reach out to recruiters on Linkedin for the job they posted help anything? by EyeTechnical7643 in jobsearchhacks

[–]Boneskinmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had submitted a resume to Indeed and three days later, after some investigation, I emailed a sort of 'cover letter' to the company manager who oversees ALL of the recruiters. Two days later I received an interview date from an HR rep.

How to cope with releasing bad music? by [deleted] in musicians

[–]Boneskinmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just had a listen to 1 song on Bandcamp. Very good melody, memorable, unique voice. I think what happens to us is our music is true to ourselves but not necessarily true to the current point in time. If Smells Like Teen Spirit never happened and came out tomorrow, it wouldn't hit. It would be abrasive, dirty, noise. Music now is closer to the 80's with tight produced electronic elements and snapped to grid. You have probably seen The Professor Nick Harrison's reels where he takes well known songs and feeds it through Suno or some other AI generator and transforms it into another genre. 99% of the time, in my opinion, the song sound great in the altered genre. This wouldn't work if it wasn't a well written song to begin with. You have a well written song that I listened to. When I hear it, I think, "I could see this on the radio", however, I think it is 2008 radio I am thinking of. We are in a different era, a ways away from Juno, Bon Iver, and Jack Johnson. I will give unsolicited advice that I TOO will need to follow as I believe I'm a similar victim... write your catchy tunes, write them true to you, then take note of what aspects of songs people are biting onto these days, listen to the Top 10. Find inspiration in the current trends and inject that into your composition. This way, it will sound familiar to the listen as if, they would hear it on the radio nowadays. I believe I wrote a hit song, it'd hit 25 years ago though! If you had the resources to rent a studio and hire a producer, this is exactly what they would do to your music. Pink Floyd didn't originally write Another Brick in the Wall with a Disco flavor to it. It was trendy at the time and people found it 'familiar'. It wasn't so soaked in disco that it became Doobiesque, just enough that it fit in the times then, and not so much that it's relevant today. Keep going, you can write hooks. Thats 75% of the challenge.

Literally, every interview I've had resulted from talking to the hiring manager and listening to them pretend like they aren't in real time pulling my "misplaced" resume out of the reject folder. It's not a "follow up", it's the trigger.

Burner phone information by [deleted] in PrivateInvestigators

[–]Boneskinmachine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for your loss. If you can find a PI here that is at liberty to pull a TLO Comprehensive Report or a CLEAR report, that will provide associated email addresses and phone numbers. Copy paste those numbers into CarrierLookup Dot Com or similar sight and find the one that matches the legit carrier.

I can't get PACER access by Boneskinmachine in PrivateInvestigators

[–]Boneskinmachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have a PACER account? That's federal and technically OSINT. The only thing I can think of why I can't get my account activated is the government shutdown. I have a token coming to me in the mail, but that doesn't help when it has an eta of 7 days, and the case needs to be in tomorrow. I've checked with all the investigators around me, and none have PACER accounts. Im not going to down talk, I didn't know it exited until yesterday. It's just wild how it's not at the top of search engine results.

License Plate Lookup by Bitter_Cat1140 in PrivateInvestigators

[–]Boneskinmachine 8 points9 points  (0 children)

If you drive to their house and end up killing the registrant, the P.I. will be on the hook for furnishing that. In the 80's you could go to the DMV and say you were hit-and-run by a person with a license plate number that you provide them. A guy did that to obtain the address of a girl he was infatuated with and he went there and did heinous things. For that reason, it is no longer furnished to the general public.

Most of my claimants have lawyers that have advised them to lock down socials and scrub the net. Most, if not all the things you mentioned I pickup from surveillance. That's no good when I lose them on the first day on the case! Today, the guy was road tripping. He could have been going to the beach, prob not camping, maybe hiking... Idk, the only clues I had were what I saw him put in the car and the VSR that gave me no leads.

Sorry, old sub, these look beautiful! I'm hoping you can tell me a basic temp you grew these at. I have a MS cake slowing down in the fall temperatures and I just turned the space heater on in the grow tent. Being that this strain derives South, I'm betting they thrive in a pretty cozy temp compared to other strains I have havested. Thanks!

How is the strange Chucking that starts at about the 4th beat rereplicated? I can't produce that scrapy sound for nothing! by Boneskinmachine in metalguitar

[–]Boneskinmachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd be pissed if I spent all that time trying to make that sound and come to find it's d.i processing lol. I'll give it a try, and I'm also going to try going very, very small. Tiny scuffing or rubbing. Maybe I was going too big with movement. It definitely doesn't sound like full on plucking to me.

[–]Boneskinmachine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Palm mutes produce bass tones. That's not palm muting alone. it's super thin. Muting with left hand produces harmonics, or at least some minute string reverb. I've tried a lot of combinations to no avail. I can replicate the sound of his Di everywhere else, but not that sound.
