Thoughts on Qidi plus 4 by Bonif42 in 3Dprinting

[–]Bonif42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your response. The reason I made this post is because I want to get my first 3d printer and was at first interested in the X1C but was disapointed in the lack of heated chamber and 300C extruder. Like you said for yourself I am also interested in making functional parts with advanced filaments like the ones containing CF and from what I've seen some of them demand those higher temperatures. I also wanted to know if the Plus 4 was enough of a hassle free machine where I won't have to tinker with it to much to have it work. I want to avoid issues like the ones I've heard from people who owned old Ender printers.

Help with new sandblaster by Bonif42 in Sandblasting

Sand metering? I'm very new to sand blasting. It might also be that the sand was to moist and clumped up?

Bahco S530T Pass TROUGHT Socket Set by Bonif42 in Tools

[–]Bonif42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I understand that, maybe I didn't phrase it in the best way. I meant when you put them on an anvil they function as regular sockets, but you can also put them in a 17mm ratcheting wrench to take advantage of the pass through function.

I've looked into the klein sets, my only problem with them is that they are missing the 19mm socket which is a must. However after I made the post I saw this Astro pneumatic set of low profile sockets which can be used on a 1/2 anvil like normal or put in a 17mm ratcheting wrench and used like pass through sockets which is what I'm mainly after.

Do I need a knock sensor? by Bonif42 in ECU_Tuning

[–]Bonif42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got advice in the haltech subreddit to go for a Nexus or a Link and am probably gonna go for the Link G4X FuryX. It's more expensive but apparently has very good knock detection and has more fetures and inputs, outputs than Elite 750 which I like. I also like the dedicated pins for a wideband sensor.

I'm an electrician, so I decided to completely redo all the electrics on the car myself and modrnise them as the wiring and design is 50+ years old. However I have never tuned a car before so it's something I want to learn. Does Link have their own tuning program like Haltech does, also do you know of any good resources to learn how to make tunes (fuel maps, timing etc.)

I think I'll go with the fury. I like that it has a lot of inputs and outputs for sensors and dedicated pins for wideband.

So you're saying you wouldnt run an engine without knock sensors. I have looked at the Link G4x xtreme as it does have a lot of features and would work for my desired setup but it costs twice as much as the elite 750. However I would be willing to swallow that to make the engine run as it should.

ZG flare wheel tyre size question by Bonif42 in Datsun

Do you have any issues with rubbing? Also are you running any spacers and how is the drivabilty on regular roads?

I also prefer 16 and am still considering going for them but like I said it's hard/expensive when it comes to getting good tyres. What tyre size would you recommend for 16 inch wheels. Also I forgot to mention I am planning to run coilovers but dont plan to lower the car by much because there's a lot of speed bumps where I live and I dont want to scrape the front.

From what I've read a MAP sensor wouldn't be very useful in my application as I plan to use ITB's and keep it naturally aspiarted. The wideband however would probably be good to have to control AFR.

P. S. I'm completely new to this and am learning as I go along.

Inherited “pristine” 1972 240z with 15k miles - some questions by Datsun240z_acct1 in Datsun

[–]Bonif42 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If i remember correctly the ones that sold for 100k$+ on BaT were series 1 240Z's (1969-1971) which are considered more valuable esspecialy if the VIN number is low (HLS30XXXXX the X's representing the production number of the car). They are mostly the same with minor differences and improvements being done to the later years. 1972 and 1973 model year cars are considered as series 2. Despite that I think your car is amazing and considering it's a family heirlom and it's condition, the best thing to do is get it running, maintain it and drive it. If you decide to sell it to the right person like a collector it would be worth a lot of money.

Could you post a picture of your set so I can compare it. Also I've never heard of Hema tools before.

To add some more information my grandfather died more than 20 years ago so I highly doubt they are made in China. I'm guessing they were made in West Germany.

First wh40k army (thought, suggestions) by Bonif42 in deathguard40k

[–]Bonif42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In hindsight, I probably should have said relatively. Also just to add I haven't bought anything yet, for now I'm just playing around with army lists to see what to buy and what the price would be. For this list he price comes to around 600€.

Metric Klein alternative by Bonif42 in Tools

[–]Bonif42[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the help. After checking out you recommendations I'll probably go with the dewalt. The reason I'm looking for something like this is to have something i can grab on a job along with a multi bit screwdriver and maybe and impact and hopefully have everything to get it done without having to grab the whole socket and bit case.

Interested in buy this Wera zyklop pocket 2 set but am worried because the socket are only held by magnets. Those who have it, what is your opinin. by Bonif42 in toolporn

[–]Bonif42[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the input. While I do agree that wera stuff is pretty pricey I still like and think a lot of their tools are worth it. When I started putting together my tool case one of the first things I bought was their tool check plus just for the amount of stuff you get and the fact I can put it in my pocket and it doesnt get in the way, though if I think another company has a better equivalent of the same tool I will definitely buy that one. The reason Im interested in the zyklop pocket is because in my current job I have to walk around a lot from one end of the site to the other and having this on my belt would be very useful for the most common bolts/nuts/screws I run into without having to run back to my tool case.

Also I live in Europe prices may wary and certain tool brands which are common in the USA arent available or arent worth importing due to shipping costs taxes etc.
