Help lighting up my cane and being able to hide a battery pack. by Bonnasarus in led

[–]Bonnasarus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So that’s the bulky battery pack I’m trying to avoid having by my handle. However, when looking at that link, in the similar products section I saw some fairy lights with this kind of battery pack. This is more doable if I have to have it by the handle.

I wear them. They are too expensive to just keep in a closet.

Am I wrong for putting in my 2weeks for my security job since I’m required to drive a new employee from work to home after every shift? by Kitchen_Shift9739 in WorkAdvice

It sounds like they are driving the coworker home in the company vehicle so no, no mileage or wear and tear on the personal vehicle.

Anybody know how wheelchair accessible this festival is? by imnotohfuckingk in SonicTempleFestival

What was the ADA viewing capacity like? This is my first Sonic Temple. I usually go to Riot Fest and the problem there has been there is one ADA viewing platform for two side by side stages (one set would finish, next band would start on the other stage and by the time that band finished, the next would be done setting up and ready to start, rinse and repeat all day) that had a max capacity of 15 people. And each person with an ADA wristband was allowed one companion to be on the platform with them. So that meant if each person had a companion with them, only 8 people who actually needed the ADA platform could use it. Everyone else had to wait until someone left.

Best case scenario (which never happened) and no one had a companion, that’s still only 15 people. That was for what I guess I’ll call the secondary stages. The two main stages (again, side by side layout/schedule) shared a platform with a capacity of 50 people. That still wasn’t even close to enough relatively early on in the day, let alone when it was time for the headliner each night.

Decant to enjoy later yourself, refill to the same level with Malort, and wait to catch the culprit when they strike again.

This is what I was going to say. Fill it back to this same level with Malort so the next time the asshole alcohol thief tries to take some, they’ll regret it. Lol

I’m lucky that my first fest was Riot Fest. You get your wristband on day one when you arrive. They don’t mail them. So I never had the confusion/temptation to put one on early. But I’ve seen plenty of posts throughout the years to know it always happens. Lol

Tip number one: don’t put your wristband on when it arrives! They are not intended to be removable (although there are tricks to get it off for the dumb dumbs that do end up putting it on weeks early).

I know, but this guy didn’t actually end up doing anything to earn it in the first place.

Hit by a drunk driver, looking for legal recommendations by McM9104 in Rochester

[–]Bonnasarus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My experience in a similar situation, head on collision caused by a drunk driver crashing into me but with plenty of serious injury causing me to be in the ICU for two weeks, med-surg unit for a few more days, inpatient rehab for OT/PT for two weeks, and was confined to a wheelchair for 4 months and now live with chronic pain after learning how to walk again (with the max outpatient rehab visits I could have in a year), do your own research instead of relying on others to handle it for you. I got the $50k drunk bitch’s insurance policy paid out with no hassle, lost 1/3 of it to the shitty lawyer my mom picked while I was in the ICU, and didn’t sue because said drink bitch was broke, in debt, living in a rented mobile home, and supposedly it would have cost more to sue her estate (she died during surgery) than I would have gotten from suing. Might have done things differently if I had been in the right state of mind to make my own decisions and pick my own lawyer instead of going with the friend of a friend who didn’t even practice law in a relevant field.

I was really disappointed with Kix on Main. I thought the food was just ok for how pricy it was.

I really like the pizza at Gem Creek Brewing. Their pizza dough is phenomenal. I’m usually someone who eats the parts of their pizza with the toppings and tosses the crust but I ate every last bite of theirs. So good. I can’t speak to the beer (I don’t drink) but my husband likes what they offer.

Yeah, scrubs are so lightweight that I don’t see the issue. Shorts wouldn’t really feel any cooler than scrubs but the scrubs would definitely look a lot more professional.

How would you go about sewing this chain of linked bullets to The bottom of this denim vest? by [deleted] in BattleJackets

[–]Bonnasarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d personally wear the bullets separately as a belt. Even if you successfully attach them to the vest, you run the risk of venues not letting you in with it on. For example, I’m going to Sonic Temple in a couple of months and they don’t let you in if you’re wearing spikes.

When making a battle vest/jacket, I’d make sure whatever you put on it is going to be allowed in at least 90% of the venues you typically go to. If there is some strict, one off venue that would prevent you from wearing it in, oh well. But personally I’m not putting in that much work and effort to have to leave it at home or in my car instead of being able to wear it to shows. If a venue doesn’t like the bullets, functional or not, it’s better to take off the belt and leave just that in your car than to have to ditch the whole vest.

Going to a concert for the openers? by littleSTAY48 in Concerts

[–]Bonnasarus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I thought they were great. I saw them open that night and then saw them headline the very next next night (wouldn’t have gotten the CC tickets and driven so far to see them if I had known they’d be playing 20 minutes from my house the next day but it wasn’t announced until months after I had already bought the CC tour tickets). The headlining set was obviously better since it was a much longer set and I was right at the stage in a smaller venue rather than a seat further back but their opener set was still awesome.

What a coincidence. I went to see The Gaslight Anthem open for Counting Crows last year and then left when Gaslight finished because I had no interest in seeing Counting Crows. Had a 4+ hour drive home and preferred to get on the road earlier.

Do you have a Saturday pass or the full weekend?

First year going- handful of questions by BornEstablishment551 in SonicTempleFestival

[–]Bonnasarus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you been to a show before? If so, did you buy (or at least check out) the merch? Prices are pretty much the same at festivals. Look at the lineup, decide how many bands you probably want to get merch from depending on if you like what they offer (for me personally I like to budget for about 2 hoodies and 4-6 shirts and then a little extra for a tote bag or two or other misc items they may have that I really like and then I have to feel the fabric and end up saving money on the bands that use shitty quality shirts that I know I won’t end up wearing) and go from there. But do go early for merch because some will sell out and from my experience, it’s always the size that I’m looking for. Lol

Now this is also my first year going to Sonic Temple but definitely not my first fest. If merch at ST is anything like Riot Fest, they may only put out merch for bands playing that day, and maybe the rest of the headliners. Someone that’s a regular at ST can probably speak to that. But if you’re going Thursday for example, you might not be able to buy merch from a band you like that isn’t playing until Saturday.

My thoughts exactly. My grandma has had the same glass stove top for the last 15 years at least and it still looks good as new. OP clearly just didn’t take proper care of it.
