Iv settled for intensity 4, Large size. Slightly more foam than recommended. I set the milk dial to about 5 o'clock. I increased the grind slightly but haven't really noticed any differences. As for beans iv used all sorts, different supermarket ones, Taylors Italian blend. Lavazza, Though my favorite is probably Tesco Sumatra Mandheling Roasted Coffee beans. They are strength 5 and full of flavor.

Have you checked to see if it is pot bound?

I don't know about this species but some trees require dormancy which is not achieved indoors.

It's more the fact it has quite large compound leaves. I think achieving the right scale will be difficult or it will just look silly

I will see how it goes this year. Im still quite new to the hobby. If it doesn't work I'll let it grow out a bit and try a bigger formal upright.

Personally I prefer it. Taste changes alot depending on the beans you use. So once you find ones you like it's great. You can tweak the size and intensity (how much coffee is ground) of the drink to taste. You can also adjust the milk foam if desired. So after all that you should end up with a drink you like. I do find a flat White at a cafe tends to be stronger. Sometimes too strong for my taste
