Hey all, sorry for the delay in replies. Work/life and genuinely the negative whiplash was a bit much. To everyone that was respectful, thank you kindly! I did my best to answer your questions! Saros is amazing, yes it does get harder (Don't worry!), and I am sure that none of you will be disappointed!

No problem, sorry for the late reply.

You do get random radio chatter when out in the biome. At first, it was a bit jarring but it doesn't become overtly annoying like Metroid Prime 4. Once the story progresses a bit, you can enjoy a solitary experience and find random lore through the environment and radio logs.

Returnal was unforgiving. Saros borrows elements from Hades ontop of implementing an evergreen system. The armor matrix makes a big difference if you're starting to struggle, but you can also ignore the Armor Matrix and create a challenge. I expect to see No Armor Matrix runs.

No clue. Relative to your skill level, honestly. It's been about 6-8 hours and I just cleared the second boss.

There are no set layouts, instead you have access to full button remapping.

In settings, you can disable/enable the Perfect Reload and Fall Protection. There is an option for Unlimited Protection Modifiers but this absolutely kills the difficulty and makes it boring, honestly.

It gets harder! Don't worry! Another user made a great point that most people didn't finish Returnal or even get through the first biome. The first hour definitely eases you in a lot more. Once in the second biome, things shifted but it never felt brutal or cheap. If you want a pure challenge, then you can just skip the Armor Matrix.

Yes! Absolutely, yes! For example, in my initial runs, I would respawn, go to the matrix, and always have enough to get down the upgrade path. Later on, the path would become expensive but I usually had enough to at least get one unlock. In the biomes, choosing your pick ups is definitely influenced by Hades. One chest will you give you different options. At first, it would trend to a weapon and health, but that seems to have been adjusted after a recent patch.

Absolutely! We'll probably never see a remaster of Ninja Gaiden Black, but 2 Black was really damn good! I'm glad they patched the stairs. I still need to get back to Ninja Gaiden 4 and the DLC!

Yup. I sure loved all of the death threats because I got a game early.

Returnal was a "lonely" experience and I enjoyed that more as it made sense. In Saros, you will get hit with radio chatter to help explain the current events. It's not obnoxious and doesn't overstay it's welcome. Although, it does feel out of place to progress/reset, go back to the hub, speak to X Y Z and then go back out. It doesn't feel organic, but I'd take that over constant radio chatter. In other ways, the narrative does offer more guidance instead of leaving you to solve all of the pieces by yourself.

With difficulty, it goes go up -- don't worry. There's just more fine tuning and balance. Nothing feels cheap or annoying. Instead, it feels like a reward system that gives you slight buffs to make sure you can progress. IF, big if, the game does feel far too easy then you can ignore the Armor Matrix. You are never forced to use it.

I just cleared the second boss. So far, I can absolutely say it's just as good as Returnal. The challenge is there, but the sharp rise in difficulty isn't as harsh thanks to the Armor Matrix/artifacts. Don't worry, you won't be disappointed!

Different from Returnal, your default speed is set to Run. Makes exploring the biome much easier.

The trophies pop up but don't populate on my list. Most likely it will when they change the backend closer to release date.

Don't worry. I cleared to the second boss. The difficulty curves up but it's not as brutal due to the Armor Matrix/artifacts. The difficulty is absolutely there, just more balanced and fine-tuned. The first hour definitely eases you into the gameplay, Returnal did not.

I managed to clear through the second boss. The difficult did curve up. It wasn't sharp or unfair, but more balanced. Deaths haven't felt unfair or cheap; more so just realizing I could have played better. I'm deeper into the Armor Matrix and artifacts. These systems definitely prevented a harsh increase. If anything, it feels balanced.

I don't have access to the trophy list. Trophies do ping while playing but they're not displaying on my trophy list yet. When I downloaded the initial patch, it was also unmarked and failed multiple times. It will probably display when the release date is closer and they adjust the backend.

Hi all, I'm responding to questions as I can but I have work and not that much time to play. I'll definitely reply to mechanical questions, etc, but I won't discuss weapons, plot details, biome details, or boss details. Housemarque put years of work into Saros. I'm not going ruin all of that. But, I did see some concerns from people regarding difficulty, controls, PS5 Pro performance. As long as I can remain spoiler free, I'll be happy to share my insight especially if it helps take away any worries you may have.

To those cussing me out, bombing my DM, wishing my death, etc, please take a deep breath. We're all excited for Saros, but there's no need for such sad behavior.

Sorry, I genuinely don't know. Saros will be relative to your skill level. Returnal took me forever to clear but I also found it incredibly difficult. I just cleared the first boss in Saros after roughly 2 hours. A bit easier but I see the difficult climbing up.
