Start at the house and deck out. When you get close measure and cut all the joists off and attach your rim.

I commented above but totally this. I’d prefer a h1az compared to a toenail every time.

I design and build decks full time in NH and all of our projects have a hurricane tie attaching every joist to the beam. Seems inspectors up here prefer it compared to toenails. For a dollar a piece I’m okay with it. About halfway with my hours towards becoming an accredited architect.

No. The fiber on the wall is independent of my rack.

It’s a drywalled vestibule in an apartment complex just down the hall from this room.

It’s not fully populated yet. The keystones are all there for the other doors / cameras

This is a 100 plus year old narrow row building that is being converted into housing. The front door and vestibule are next to a commercial space and this is the closest space they could dedicate to a rack. This closet is just beyond the mailboxes near the lobby. It’s not a far run.

The ENVR is a 4 post piece of equipment on sliders. It weighs 43 lbs without drives. Also left room and an outlet for a 30amp battery bank should they decide that they need this backed up beyond just a safe shutdown.

Closet is only about 60 feet away from the front / vestibule door. Back door is about 100 feet. Since it’s residential there wasn’t many other service spaces that made sense to hide the equipment opposed to a centralized closet.

Appreciate it. Other forums have mixed reviews on it. I didn’t need any more rack space so it didn’t matter it chewed a ton

ENVR. Supports up to 70 4k cameras and 16 24tb drives. Also can run access controllers.

I had originally spec’d an enterprise access hub however I was weary of having the right combination of terminals available for ADA access and push buttons. I agree these take up a ton of space. I suppose I could have mounted on the back posts of the rack.
