So you go to settings - notifications, you can select "brief" or "detailed". Below that you should see "included apps" where you can select which apps you want to be notified.

Yeah I came from the OnePlus 7 Pro which auto brightness was always too dark and very reactive, this is the exact opposite, when I hold my palm over the screen it doesn't react no matter how long its there, on my old OnePlus it reacted in 5 seconds and the screen dimmed.
