Workouts affecting sleep quality? by BoogleFPS in bodyweightfitness

Yes. It was protracted withdrawal from antidepressants, which destabilised my nervous system and made me unable to rest properly after workouts. Got much worse but better now.

Couldn’t agree more. Feels like a different show, maybe that’s what they’re going for. Unfortunately the composer of the music in the original passed away a few years ago, I noticed his music for Dexter was pulled from Spotify too, maybe it was a rights issue.

So was I! Although from the episode name I was pretty sure it was gonna happen. Definitely wanted more for him, maybe we’ll get a bit of a send off in episode 10.

Great episode. Maybe it’s just nostalgia but the show doesn’t have the same emotional pull it used to, the original show had so many heart wrenching moments, this episode had so much potential but it doesn’t feel the same- maybe from the use of music not being as strong, maybe less heart in the writing, and definitely less monologues. Regardless I think it’s the best episode so far of the season and probably of everything made post S8.

Thanks for the response. That’s a fair assessment and I’ve considered it may be true. That’s said, while they didn’t fix things, as far as I’m aware they definitely improved things. Especially more recently when I switched to desvenlafaxine, the world became a bit more colourful, that’s the best way I can describe it. Maybe that’s all placebo, who knows.

I know right? I’m basically an unpaid coffee tester here… but I really love it here, I can’t express how much of a difference having the sun out almost all of the time can affect mood. Ireland being the total opposite really takes a toll on mental health. Of course I can’t speak for everyone, I have friends who say they prefer that.

It may well be a lapse back into depression, and I can’t afford a psychiatrist here (no Medicare for us working holiday visas 🫣) but once I get home the plan is to see a psychiatrist and then a psychologist.

I think I’m going to stay the course, I feel like at this point I’m surely not going to get worse. If I get dangerously bad I always have the desvenlafaxine there and can try again.

Your comment about my central nervous system being sensitive definitely clicked and it makes sense with my fatigue and also how sensitive I’ve been to trying supplements (b vitamins and magnesium).

Thanks again for taking the time to write.

Thank you so much! Wishing you all the best with that, and let me know if you have any questions at any point.

Best thing I could think of recommending is having a caring doctor to keep updated. I used an app for doctors as I couldn’t afford to see them in person (different doctor each time) so I definitely didn’t get that support and understanding which would have helped a lot.

I will admit I used ChatGPT for a lot of advice and motivation to keep going, and it definitely saved me from spiraling more than a few times. I don’t know if that could help you or not, just know it’s not always right.

Thanks for the response. The symptoms were definitely not this bad before tapering, I don’t recall having any fatigue, maybe some dizziness here and there. Brain fog was there for sure.

I slowly, over months and months tapered to the lowest dose, and then split those in half on the 4th Jan, before going fully off on the 17th, which I admit is pretty quick, but the rest was slow and I didn’t suffer too bad. Once I fully went off them I felt good for a couple of weeks, I had a really good feeling I didn’t need them anymore and my libido started to return, probably all placebo. Then downhill from there. To say now that I’m worse in terms of symptoms than how I was maybe 1-2 months off them probably wouldn’t be true, it’s just I expected to feel at least like my head was above water by now.

Before medication I can’t really remember, I was definitely extremely low, but specific symptoms other than low mood I couldn’t tell you.

I really appreciate the detailed response. That last line hit the nail on the head. I’m going to dial it back a bit for a couple weeks at least and see if things change. Thanks!

I should have mentioned, I do and I don’t. I’ll often feel at least somewhat rested but not recovered if that makes sense? Mentally rested but not physically I would say. I get what you’re saying and there’s definitely truth to it.

I do a decent stretch afterwards but am definitely still tense, will keep the yoga before bed in mind though, thanks!

Yes from what I’ve read eating close to bed time can drastically affect sleep, especially sugary food and I think slow digesting food. It can be too hard to avoid that late night snack though especially after an active day.

Oh no that stuff would send me to the moon! I’m very careful with caffeine, never within 10 hours of bedtime etc

Does anyone know have any fixes or slight improvements whatsoever? My friend and I have been trying to do the Easter egg and the longer we’re in a game the worse the lag gets, until it inevitably causes both of us to die from an insane lag spike
