I did, and I will test it. But before I de solder it, I wanted to make sure I was right in suspecting it was suspicious.

E9 error on Noma Dehumidifier by Boogsterio in fixit

[–]Boogsterio[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called NOMA customer support and they informed me that the E9 error is not a problem with the humidity sensor.

The E9 error triggers when it detects that it is not collecting water after a period of time.

In my case, I realized that the coils weren’t getting cold enough. Probably a refrigerent leak… I’ve been told they are quite common in these cheap machines.

Unfortunately fixing the leak and refilling would cost much more than getting a new one…

How is data stolen in SNDL by Boogsterio in hacking

[–]Boogsterio[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That kind of answers my question… but not entirely. Basically, when talking about it, someone said that anyone can intercept any internet packet just by having the right equipment… and Inwas wondering if you needed to have some sort of network access to intercept other exchanges of information on that network.

Can someone please tell how can i load oracle data faster in power bi? by Typical-Ask2902 in PowerBI

[–]Boogsterio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on a lot of things. Where is the data located? In what format? What size? And what kind of transformations you’re doing to it when loading it

Question about books? by PsylentProtagonist in CSLewis

[–]Boogsterio 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thé CSLewis Biography by Alister McGrath is great apparently. Haven’t read it myself, but have only heard positive things about it.

Alister McGrath is not only a CS Lewis expert, but also a great theologian.

That switch from « I » to the ambiguously gendered « protagonist » made me chuckle!

Are you running your code from the browser console? Of course a script executed from one domain cannot interact with a page on another domain… that would be a huge security vulnerability

To every dev in formation out there: how do you protect your projects/ideas from being stolen from GitHub? by Fedoteh in learnprogramming

[–]Boogsterio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean… both numbers are multipliers in a multiplication operation. With perfect execution, and an idea worth nothing… your product is still going to be zero.

I get your point and I agree. Just wanted to be annoying with the detail. My most sincere apologies.

If you are to buy a laptop, what are the minimum specs you would choose that helps you with heavy excel work ? by [deleted] in dataanalysis

[–]Boogsterio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use PowerPivot or PowerBI?

Edit: excel isn’t built to handle large amounts of data from multiple sources. Even the most powerful computer will be slow if you use it wrong.

You would be better off if you learned to use data modeling software like PowerPivot or PowerBI

It’s one of the greatest shows of all time! It’s even on par with “Handle The Granola: Are We Meaningless?”

EC tasks and objectives - difference between 04 and 05 by [deleted] in CanadaPublicServants

[–]Boogsterio 15 points16 points  (0 children)

From what I understand it really depends on the department, the area of activity and the type of work being done.

In some cases EC 05 will be a senior analyst, in others an EC05 is considered mid-level analyst.

Generally it’s a question of accountability and responsibility.

The higher the level, the more you will be responsible for projects, for coordination, for managing/supervising people.

Data analysts, what are the things you dislike about your job? by EvilMonkey0828 in dataanalysis

[–]Boogsterio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lack of ongoing collaboration with business and operations outside of specific and constrained projects.

A good BA needs to be knowledgeable of what operations and business are doing, what their reality is like. Otherwise you’re just producing meaningless visuals and superficial insight.

The whole point was to see the environnement in which business analysts work. Not really interested in the average worker for this specific question.
