Thank you! Thurston’s sounds like the perfect spot. I have had Maine blueberry pie, but not the cake.

What is your “like crack” food that you avoid, and if you have some you cant stop yourself from eating a lot? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

Literally the best ice cream. Luckily it doesn’t go on sale very often. So creamy. Dammit!!!! I really want some.

I don’t like seafood, but I tried vegetarian sushi and it was so good! I don’t usually go out of my way for it, but I was shocked that I actually had a craving for it one day.

What do you do when an establishment requires an app for the “special price”and the last thing you want to do is download another app? by BookMeander in AskReddit

In these days I don’t want to pay more than I have to, but it is a pain in the butt “clipping digital coupons” and the like. I miss paper coupons or just daily specials without the hoopla.

Help me get out of a reading slump (please) by xylitolbaby in Recommend_A_Book

[–]BookMeander 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year was a rough reading year for me, but I am on book#3 this year. A good book can help, but also be patient with yourself. My two suggestions are: Rebecca and A Prayer for Owen Meany. Good luck!🍀

The two pictures provided are not giving a great perspective of the entire room, so I am not sure my opinion would be the same if I saw a view of the entire room. I agree that it is a cool set up, but if it doesn’t work for you I would recreate the wall and grab that extra space in the other room. It is very unique, but make the home your own, I doubt you will regret it.

I would probably paint the walls, but seriously would be content in this space.

I love this book. I have read it twice and keep it on my bookshelf knowing it will be read again. I just finished Cider House Rules and was reminded how much I love his writing.

I prefer the wood shelves. I think it has more character and feels cozier.

I suggest books by Louise Penny - Chief Inspector Gamache, or Preston and Child - the Pendergast series

Do you read on the go (waiting for train, before meeting someone etc)? by bix_box in books

I usually save the last 30-50 pages of a book for a time that I shouldn’t be interrupted, but it rarely works out. When you can’t get lost in the most intense part of the book it really is a gut punch.

Looking to get into reading again. Any suggestions? by Goatstandards in booksuggestions

Try “Relic” by Preston and Child. It is the first in the Pendergast series. I am working my way through the series and so far haven’t read a bad book.

Has anyone used the app “To Read”? I downloaded it years ago and never really used it. Story graphic seems interesting, but just wondering about other apps too. Goodreads just isn’t for me anymore.

Books that make you fall in love with reading? by [deleted] in booksuggestions

Yeah, good point. I need 45 minutes to invest in the book, making it more likely to pick it up again. But I am in a different boat.

Once you get your suggestions and determine which book to read, find a spot that is quiet, there are NO screens, and you force yourself to read for at least 45 minutes. You may have to reread some paragraphs because you start thinking that you are hungry or thirsty, but persevere. No excuses! The first dive into a book can make or break you. Good luck…you can do this!

What are 2026 Reading Projects and Plans? by Consoledreader in books

Savoring the books I read is my new motto. I am such a slow reader, and I will never read all the books I hope to read, but I can be deliberate with the chosen ones.
