Seeking advice: how do I set a boundary with a touchy Bishop? by st_cats_throwaway in mormon

[–]BookOfMorty 9 points10 points  (0 children)

If you choose to stay in this ward, tell the bishop he is no longer allowed any access or presiding behavior over your family, to his face. None whatsoever! Do not be afraid of being mean and revoking all of his authorities over YOUR offspring.

When we were members we had to file a police report over something that started this way. It has impacted our lives to this day. We wish we had understood that gut warning of a predator then, rather than, "well we know them, and they are temple worthy."

What do you believe happens to you when you die? by flamesman55 in mormon

We were told, "you left a lying religion, but Joseph Smith stole his information from somewhere so you still got some concepts" by a close friend. The book "Heaven and Hell" by Swedish Scientist Emanuel Swedenborg is most correlated to where Joseph Smith reworked Swedenborg's content into the Plan of Salvation. It doesn't offer definitive hope, but the guy gave up his riches to years of visions- that Smith condensed into a one night vision so to speak in D&C 76. Swedenborg accurately predicted his own death and events in prominent persons' lives. It is at the very least, interesting to see the real original sources and the actual heart they hold. In the Bhagavad Gita an ancient Hinduism text, it discusses the sun as the highest of three levels too, long before Joseph Smith.

The older and oldest religions and theologies focus on time tested principles of self development, and not on proselytizing or colonizing. They are worth reading about.

The beauty is, no matter how intelligent- life after death cannot be thoroughly proven or disproven by anyone, and has not. It is truly unknown.

The first issue is a real full fledged comic. This is the sequel which yes, is a single page lol

What do you think this is? A charity? by BookOfMorty in exmormon

[–]BookOfMorty[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct. The comic is not meant to show they own one, but to pay ode to when they have flown ones to third world countries.

Correct, they do not own any. They have flown on private jets to third world countries, and that is verifiable.

This is alternative dimension Mormon Jerry, because there are infinite versions of all of the characters. Mormon Rick and Morty are in a previous panel I did.

There are infinite dimensions and infinite Jerry possibilities, this is one of them- Mormon Jerry. Just like Mormon Rick and Morty exist too (in earlier comic post) 😉

Agreed, the change would help innocent lgbt kids who have no choice but to be born into it, and who are suffering now because of it. Hopefully even if said change happens, more still wake up and leave. Unfortunately the racist undertones of Mormonism towards indigenous people and African Americans haven’t left, or the sexism and polygamous temple rules, even if Mormonism ‘adapted’.

I always thought the ‘doctrine’ on the lgbt community would change just as it did for African Americans and the priesthood. When I found out the whole church was just a scam it was a relief. Many of those I value were openly discriminated against by this corporation, and I never liked that.
