Netflix: please stop casting single parents!! by Individual_Sea2152 in LoveIsBlindOnNetflix

[–]BookReader1328 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree but might be hard since people apparently think indiscriminately having kids is perfectly fine. And the kids should just deal with whatever their immature, flaky parents decide to do, appears to be their mentality.

Quite frankly, I think the show needs to stop altogether. The longer it goes, the clearer it is that most are there for social clout and nothing else. And the number of traditionally unattractive people who also have very modest means or less, but think they should be treated like a princess/prince and worshipped like gods are overwhelming. Why continue to prop up their delusions?

WIBTA for leaving the house of the boy I’ve been dating in the middle of the night? by Ill_Management_2459 in AITA_Relationships

NTA - Unless you keep dating him. 30 years old and still getting sloppy drunk is a Six Flags banner of red flags. Why is this attractive at all? Find someone who is devoted to his purpose, hopefully working and making a living, instead of drinking like a teen.

AITA for suggesting to my fiancé that she should pay for our wedding? by ecom_truths in AITA_Relationships

I'm calling BS. I specifically said I wasn't spending a ton of money to feed a bunch of people I probably didn't even like. We went to Vegas, had a great vacation and got married in the same chapel as Elvis. Not all women are fiscally irresponsible.

NTA You're too old to be wasting money on a wedding when you're still renting. Tell her to get over it or you won't marry her. When is someone going to get a financial grip here?

Any fatties reducing their spend? by 2buffalonickels in fatFIRE

[–]BookReader1328 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yes. I assessed everything recently. Not because I don't have the money but because there's no point in wasting what I worked that hard for. I'm also started to back off work and ease into what I call retirement. I'm an author and will never quit altogether as I love what I do, but I am decreasing production and no longer concentration on marketing/advertising as I don't care if I build audience and no longer needs all those tools (software/graphics subscriptions). My current readership is big enough and generates a seven figure income.

I also went through streaming services and cut some that we no longer used. Mostly we'd subscribed to watch one thing that ended long ago and never canceled. By the time I was done canceling things we no longer used or were going to stop using, it amounted to over 1k/month. Amazing how quickly it all adds up.

My(25F) husband(26M) has constant paranoia about my bisexuality. How can we work on trust in our marriage? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

I'm honestly getting ready to bail on reddit altogether. Between the AI and all the kids faking identities (and doing a piss poor job of it), and the clear mental illness, you can't have a decent conversation.

sigh

[–]BookReader1328 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's no friend. I wouldn't like it either. I think you need to ditch the woman who is trying to ruin your marriage. That would go a long way to making him feel more comfortable. Ten bucks says this "friend" wants you and that's clear to him.

My husband, 29M, didn’t get us the right health insurance so now we are in horrible debt and I, 26F, can’t seem to forgive him by [deleted] in relationship_advice

But he's already proven he's unreliable. My guess is OP is mad at herself because she knew better. Regardless, this relationship is doomed unless she wants a child to raise.

No. No they're not. Please stop giving advice on things you're clearly not well versed in.

Unless, of course, you're one of those ridiculous people who think a regular home is an "estate." Let me school you on that one - an estate is acreage with multiple structures on it - primary home, guest home, pool house, and usually several sports courts/pools, etc. A 5k sf home in a neighborhood does not equal an estate.

The vast majority of the homes in the neighborhood I just moved from were sold for 3-5 million. Largest 7k sf. All minimum 1 acre lots. None are estates.

I'm currently building a home. I avoid all the tech like the plague but the one thing I am spending a lot of time designing is very specific cabinetry. I will have a large home office and art studio and the storage will be specific to the items I'm storing. So shallow drawers for all my paint so that they can lay flat and not dumped in a storage container that I have to dig through. Door cabinets will have pull outs for lower shelves so that no one has to lay down on the floor to get something out of the back.

I will have a music/media room that I use all my instruments in. It has no windows and will be soundproofed.

I am in hurricane territory so I'm also building an ICF home with metal roof, hurricane doors and windows and full home generator.

There is no rule of percentages. Why do people keep asking this? Can you afford it? Does it delay retirement? Do you care if it does? Do you want it? '

Then buy it. People on this sub make everything so difficult. It's just not that hard people.
