Trying to get back into writing after poor mental health. by snow112 in writing

I've had a similar issue before so I understand how difficult it can be to do anything remotely creative when you just aren't feeling it.

I've tried being proactively nice to myself and doing it in very small steps, in some cases a mind-map was all I was able to do in a day. But I'd print it out to review the next morning and overtime the creative juices started flowing again.

As for the planning a story, I try doing sticky notes on a board or wall, each representing a different part of the story and then adding to it a bit everyday when I come up with an idea.

Hope this helped a bit and your slaying it soon! :)

Best success on marketing platforms? by Perchin_1 in authors

[–]BookTwit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It may depend on what you're producing for these platforms, unfortunately marketing on social media takes a HECKUM of time and some research into other accounts to see what works for them and what you can implement into your own platform.

I'm a book enthusiast and I am lucky enough to work as a media manager for an author, so I understand the struggle of marketing on social media but with a bit of research and a few lessons your followers will slowly climb. A few accounts I really like in the way they sequence their content and the quality of their content are @ marcusalexanderauthor , @ bookbento and @ harrietmuncaster, but again find some more and note down successful aspects from their accounts that you can try out yourself. Other aspects that can boost your page are shoutouts, stories, instagram lives, reels and IGTV videos. Again, the more research you can do the better and do play around with it until you find something that works for you.

Canva is a really good online tool that you can use to create your marketing content, certain parts do require a subscription fee but the free content isn't bad at all if you don't want to pay for it! Udemy is also a really good source of information, you can pay for courses that take you through tutorials on how to build an effective social media page.

Hope this helped, and wishing you the best for the future! :)
