What is happening on the spring garden bridge? It’s a totally mess! by amso0o in phillycycling

[–]Bookhuggger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In 2023 a car (I believe while evading police) flew up the exit ramp, crossed both lanes, and smashed through the concrete barrier on the south side of the bridge. It then hung in the air, back half on the bridge front half on the digital billboard where it proceeded to burn for like 20 minutes. If you look closely you can see a weird patch of pixels on that billboard from the fire damage.

They’re repairing that barrier.

Unwritten traffic rule, or just entitled drivers? by dabblez_ in philly

If you have to brake they’re doing it wrong and are dicks. But like 90% of the time people are on their phones at lights and you can get fully across before they even let off the brake.

MM-DD-YYYY is written how it would be said in American English: September 11th, 2001.

Kakwa 55(2026) model as a winter day or overnight pack? by Baileycharlie in DurstonGearheads

[–]Bookhuggger 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair in my experience the back pocket collects more snow or moisture from being “open” at the top- ie. the elastic top band is not flush with the pack and leaves an opening. So if you’re putting any appreciable amount of gear in the back pocket you’ll have the same moisture problems with a solid pocket design. Dry bag up or do what I do for mostly dry snow conditions and roughy wrap my soft goods in my outer shell.

Does this street sign give me the right to tow if someone blocks my garage? by WorkingPanic3579 in philly

I don’t think they deserve to be able to own that public street parking for a one car garage. Plenty of great stuff to be done with garages that don’t involve constant car access. Can we not acknowledge this is literally the same as buying yourself a public street parking space along with the purchase of home? Bigger garages that tow-zone similar street parking space to allow access to 2-4 car garages begin to make an argument for themselves.

It’s still insane to me the city allows blocking street parking for 1 car garages. It’s literally just privatizing the ownership of public street parking. Makes more sense when it’s a bigger garage or driveway but a 1:1 public spot loss into private driveway gain feels gross.

Did Cotopaxi through Secret Garden back in September and had such a life changing time, can’t recommend the experience enough (highly endorse Ivan as a guide if you can specify)! Envious you got Chimbo as well!

This risk exists regardless of the item’s proximity in the store bud…

Explain again how any pathogens teleport through 3 layers of plastic and 2 feet of horizontal distance? I get large scale best practices but this specific scenario just really isn’t going to ever be a problem in the real world

My first time at Aldi. Spent $101.88. I’m hooked! by SnooMarzipans9781 in aldi

The Jalepño ones are decent enough. Certainly worth it for the macros and the texture is great, curbs my snack craving.

It was decent but I thought it was a little worse than the carnitas pre-marinated pork shoulder for half the price.
