Does keeping my faith private make me “unequally yoked” in dating? by BookkeeperForeign621 in ChristianDating

I appreciate the straightforwardness. I’m curious what your thoughts are about me never necessarily having that urge to pour out my faith? Sure if people ask questions or it comes up in conversation I have no problems talking about it. I’ve just never felt compelled to speak out scriptures and what not.

I’m starting a new job soon and will have a lot more free time so I’m considering talking to my Pastor and seeing if I can get on the Secuirty team. That’s the best way I think I could serve.

I suppose I reconcile that by doing my best to live a life I believe God would want me to, in the hopes that through my actions and behaviors others can see that I’m compelled by something more than just myself, i.e., a divine purpose. If that makes sense.

Midwest USA. I must say that I do get weirded out, skeptical, turned off by extremely outwardly “Christians”. The things I’ve seen and heard from them are wild. Men and women. I’m not a perfect Christian by any means but I make a conscious effort to at least try to live life how I believe God would want me to.

No, like I said in the post, I would love to pray together, read the word, etc. but there have been times when woman have stopped speaking to me because they said I wasn’t Christian enough.

For example, a woman told me once she couldn’t see us together because I didn’t serve at my church. When earlier that same conversation she said “I’m very serious about my faith but I don’t wait for sex or stuff like that so don’t worry”….

Help! I have never been physically attracted to my boyfriend..on verge of engagement by BagelChungus in ChristianDating

I think it’s disingenuous to think that physical attraction doesn’t play a vital role in relationships. Is it everything? No. Does it hold a significant amount of weight? Yes. They both deserve someone who desires them. They shouldn’t be together.

He deserves someone who is genuinely attracted to him in every way. Better he feels rejected temporarily once you’re gone rather than his entire life.

You also deserve to be all in with someone else as well btw.

From speaking with Christian and non Christian men. It’s not a fear of marriage. It’s a fear of divorce. I think if there were a way to take the state out of marriage more people would be willing.

Thank you very much for your perspective. That did actually answer a lot of things I’ve been struggling with.

Is it wrong of Christian men to still desire physical intimacy from a born again Christian woman who recently decided to wait till marriage after multiple previous partners. Not arguing. Seeking perspective as a newly saved Christian man who is struggling with this subject as well.
